Thank you, I wanted to leave it as a piano vocal only but my neighbor convinced that it needed just a bit more and I think she was right.

I think I've only done one or two piano based songs and though I have been wanting to write one, I wrote this on guitar and only as I worked on the arrangement in BIAB did I settle on this piano style. I was very happy with how that all fell together.

So very glad to hear that you enjoyed the results.

Wow - you really knocked this out of the park. It tugs at the heartstrings, and both your vocals and instrumentation and emotional and heartfelt. Gorgeous in it's simplicity, and a fine example of less is more.

You should be really proud of this one - thanks for sharing smile

Nothing to add and nothing to take away. The sweet spot.

You are a man of many voices...all done well.

For a sparse production you did an excellent job with the build.

"A silent pipers tune, heard only on the moon
A jesters dance, this game of chance
A shadow of a man"

Wonderful line of many.

It would be hard to pack more emotion into a vocal w/o over singing it. Well done.

Good to see you back around mr gruve

Lawrence,

A thoughtful, literary write... so personal. Nice arrangement. Good mix.

Nice use of the bowed bass and the pairing of cello.

A wonderful vocal performance.

Hi Lawrence,

This is such a wonderful write and equally wonderful listen. It truly is inspired on so many levels. And your performance is outstanding.

For all the 5 minutes, I was there with you all the way. Not once did I feel distracted or that the journey was a long one. Quite the contrary in fact. When the song finished, I just sat there thinking and letting my memory of the song resonate in my mind.

The write, the arrangement, the choice of instruments, the mix, your singing... everything is first class.

What really grabbed my attention was how you used the bowed bass. I've tried to work with that Realtrack a few times and I've never managed to create anything that engages with as much musical 'soul' as this song of yours.

In a word... Superb!
Noel

Hey Lawrence, there is a lot to love here. As I have said many times before you are definitely one of my favorite vocalists on the forum. The thing I like the most about this is the open ended write which makes the listener participate in meaning of the words. I really enjoyed trying to figure out the story. Very well presented and produced. You are extremely talented, Tom

Noel thank you for your generosity. The song is kind of a letter and like a dream. As when Freud said that we are all of the characters in our dreams. And it was indeed fun to work with the bowed bass and mixing in the other instruments.

This is really really good! I really like the way you started with a solo piano and brought in each instrument one at a time. Brilliant!

Your vocal is very strong and heartfelt.

Everything about this is super!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
