Hi Tunemonger,
I first listened to this with the original vocal and today when I returned to have another listen, I could immediately hear the difference. The vocal and the backing are definitely sailing along in the same boat now. It's a great song and a really enjoyable listen.
Tin Pan Alley music is my all-time favourite genre and you've composed a song that sits comfortably in this period. The big bands were amazing. I must compliment your singer, too. Sam Ford has just the right voice to transport listeners to yesteryear!
You instrument choices, your arrangement and your mixing are a real credit to you!
I was with you all the way Noel

The whole song transported me to that era we see and hear in films of that time, it was brilliantly done.
I then had a problem , who is Sam from fivver ?, your writing buddy ?,
Mixing ,production are all bang on.
Thanks

Hi Beatmaster,
Sam Efford (Sam Ford) is a singer for hire on fiverr.com. I'm very happy with his work, would recommend him to anyone, and he's quite reasonable, as well.
Thanks again to all for your help with getting this tune right. I appreciate it a lot. It was a lot of work. The horns particularly, took six hours (six renders, then cutting and pasting in the DAW the parts that fit the song best.) They were far from perfect and probably not even good compared to what a horn arranger could do, but I was very happy with the result and once again amazed at what power exists in BIAB.

Things don't get fixed anymore, folks buy something new Darn your socks, no, damn those socks and in the trash, they're through But what if I've figured a way out, to change things just for us? Maybe I've secured a bailout, arranged things with no muss?
Clever lyrics Tunemonger! Sweet arrangement, love the horns and a great feel to the singers tone ( can you put up a link to that swing vocal video- need help there myself). Very cool song and collaboration.

Hello TuneMonger,
Nice Jazz song! I entirely agree with Trevor(VideoTrack). You certainly captured that 1920's feel perfectly. The crooner horns slotted in so extremely well. It's a treasure for anyone who likes this genre of music. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

Nice work! Whatever the issues were with the singer, they were fixed by the time I got to it. Good job with the horns!

Professional radio ready quality. I didn't listen before vocal redo - like the end result. Sam sounds like someone you should continue a work relation on future projects. Enjoyed the listen.

Oh yeah! You are right on the money with this. It's like I'm spinning a 78. Sounds great in all aspects: vocal, melody, instrumentation, and production.

Hello!
Loved it! My wife and I do a lot of these old swing tunes. I felt it was more of a late 30's or early 40's tune. Regardless, it was a terrific listen! Had the swing and "stuff" that symbolized the era. Very nice lyric, too! Enjoyed it a bunch! best to you ...

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
