Hello forum friends. Listening today, I got inspired to post this after hearing Tune Monger's lovely big band tune.....so well done!! I've always liked this style. My crooning abilities are marginal at best but I tried to write a fun, little song from the perspective of a love struck regular guy who falls for a woman out of his league, something I DO know a lot about! Hope you enjoy. Please let me know what you think. Will post lyric soon. Take care all. Greg

Greg,
Your crooning abilities are just fine smile Excellent tune in all respects. Smooth & smokey. You captured the spirit of the era very well, both vocally and musically. The quality of composition and production is striking!

Thank you for sharing!

Beautiful tune and love the story of a delivery man and his van. I go around humming (cuz I cannot sing) Summer Comes Along and Make the Moment Last and that's the mark of good music IMHO.

But what's Geary and Vine? Gotta ask...

LOVELY melody.
Sweet narrative.
Spot on arrangement.
The mix is tidy too.
Well done.
The tag line of Geary & Vine made me think of Randy Newman's Vine Street (so beautifully performed by Harry Nilsson).

Hi Greg,

You are much too modest about yourself. You did a very nice job with this song. Although I am not a lover of Big Bands, but you sang with passion and with a nice swing, that it made me forget that. I liked the solo with the Horn(s). Very nice!

Great song. The style and sound reminiscent of Rod Stewart's treatment of various tunes from "The Great American Song Book," and also Ray Ellington (singer and band leader from the 1950s). Got any more like that?

Greg,

Buddy, YOU should be famous.

As a songwriter.
As a singer.

And a very nice production. Nice use of the horns. Everything fits.

A stellar write.

A gorgeous listen.

You notch it up a little more with each release.

A really lovely song. A some top notch crooning, and a very nice lyric.
One of the absolute best uses of the big band horn sections I've heard.
The solo fits nicely and the the overall production sparkles.

Greg,

This is yet another stunning song.

I love the way that you've used a woman standing on a street corner as the foundation for these lyrics. It's a perfect fit for the genre.

From start to end, this is creative writing and classy listening!

All the best,
Noel

Hi Greg,

yes, Floyd nailed it: You should be famous!

What a cool song, the complex arrangement flowing so easily. Great horns arrangement and so incredibly well-sung.

Hats off, Greg, just an admirable production in every aspect.

All the best,

Stefan

I used to hear this type of music all the time growing up, my dad was a huge fan, and you pretty much nailed it I think, Greg.

Excellent!

Great Sound and vocals, I just think your voice was meant for Big Band sound, as it fits and feels just right.

This had a very uplifting feel to it, loved the lyrics.

Thanks

Hi Greg ...

I have to portion my time here as best as I can. But I ALWAYS make it a point o listen to your music.

You have a marvelous crooner's voice, my friend - you are much too modest. You are the smoothest singer on the forums as far as I'm concerned. This is perfect in every way. As Floyd (and I in the past have) said ... you should be a household name. Your talents aren't just great ... they're exquisite. You have the perfect touch in lyric, vocal, arrangement and mix. That pretty much sums it up ... true excellence.

Wishing you the very best, my friend. BTW ... your package is on the way.

Alan

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
