In all of my Biab styles, the soloist's are coming in octaves below where they should is there a global setting to fix this? Thanks

First check Preferences, Channels. See if Soloist is 0 in the Octave column. Yours might say. -1 and if it does, change it to 0.

And is this for MIDI or RealTracks? You can adjust MIDI as indicated by Matt; however, RealTracks are recordings and so won't adjust.

OK I changed the channel to 1 then I get a computer system set to 48000 record and playback speed and I can't get my Biab sound settings to change to 44.1. When I press on the soundcard get from, nothing comes up and I can't get bb to list my drivers. The drivers list fine for the audio

So I had to go to Realband to correct this issue I have 24 bit 44.1, should I use that or stick to 16 bit 44.1?

It's for midi and real. I use midi to kick Vst's onto them but for genuine instruments I use real tracks.

OK I have changed the channel for octave to 0, but it's still playing octaves too low. What's another idea? Thanks very much. Make sure I save the setting when I set that.

Under OPTIONS, on the top menu, there is a choice for "Return to Factory Settings" -- select the one for "MOST" settings.

It would also pay to save your present set up in case you need to return to it. This is also found under the OPTIONS menu.

As well as the good information above, do make sure that the Soloist Track is not frozen, before re-generating.

OK I figured the puzzle out. It's a problem with the location of soloists that use SampleTank or Amplitube. For some reason I can't find SampleTank or Amplitube on my computer. But SampleTank does come up but says it's expired. So I would like to implement these tracks back to Cakewalk TTS. Unless I learn where the directories for these programs are. ARe there special editions that are being used. I own both Revalver and Guitar Rigg. But it would be nice to hear the amplitubes plus they are already set up. Also in a couple months I plan on buying Biab2020 Has the setup changed from 2015 much? Should I wait or is it an extension of using these VST's?

I discovered where they were, program files x86 IK MUltimedia but they are from 2014. Does this mean they are useless. They offered to update me, but I'm not sure if its just going to give me trial software and I don't want a bunch of nonsense on my computer that will stop working. My edition is Biab 2014 and I will update this year so am I too far back?

OK is there a find and replace function in Biab to change all the SampleTank based tracks to RealBand? That's easy or am I better off waiting 5 weeks to get Biab 2020? If the sounds in Amplitube 3 ... I think I'm just going to wait!!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
