Thinnking of You

Work has made it difficult for me to produce some new material (although I have a several unfinished projects)and also from enjoying and commenting on as many song posts here as I would like to. Anyway, I wrote this song many moons ago, and it was one of my early BIAB productions. I haven't posted here before because musically it is a bit ho-hum, but I like the lyrics.

Tracks:
FT1681 Buitar, 12 String Acoustic Fingerpicking
RT539 Bass, Electric Pop Sw
RT408 Guitar, Resonator, Background Allis
Real Drums - Nash Pop Ballad
RT2762 Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm 70sBritPopMike
RT2691 Guitar, Electric, Soloist Country Ballad Brent Simple

Lyrics

Winter came so long ago
A frozen day without the snow
Candle burning through the night
Knowing then that things weren’t right
And now I’m thinking of you

Emerald eyes and autumn hair
Loving you was never fair
Always knew we wouldn’t last long
Tried to capture you in a song
And now I’m thinking of you

Thinking of the way we felt
Thinking of the times we held
Each other while hope still remained.
Love lingered and kisses sustained
The way I was thinking of you.

Sleeping in the firelight
The only warmth I feel tonight
Waking up to shadowed beams
Whatever happens to unfinished dreams?
I think I was dreaming of you

Dreaming of the way we felt
Dreaming of the times we held
Each other while the hope remained
Love lingered and kisses sustained
The way I was thinking of you

Winter came so long ago
A frozen day without the snow
Candle burning through the night
Knowing then that things weren’t right

Hey you really can hit those loooooow notes. Very nice vocals.
one thing about the drums though... to me they sound a bit thin. Did you modify them much from the originals from BIAB?

I agree with Marty, the low notes are really fantastic and hit just as they need to. Can't wait to see what else you do!

Stormy,
a very nice narrative well sung.
The arrangement supports the story well - nothing flash but solid is good.

Immediate thoughts are very nice lyric, melody and vocals.

We don't sense anything ho-hum about it.
It's a fine love lost song just the right amount of
contemplative lyric and nothing that gets overly dramatic, i.e,.
an attention holder.

Thanks for sharing it. Early production or not
we enjoyed it!

Thanks for the listen and comments, Marty. I didn't modify the percussion track. I did bring up the drums in a remix this evening.

Dear Scott,

I said it before: I love your songs - they're compact, honest (can I use that term?), appealingly catchy.

The lyrics are very nice, your singing is amazing and the backing track (that's not a ready-to-use RealStyle, right?) really nails it. Sounding excellent, too.

And may I add something which isn't mentioned here usually: I love your clear pronunciation.

Very well-done, Scott, looking forward to times when your work will allow you to come up with more songs.

All the best,

Stefan

I didn't think musically it was ho-hum actually, I thought the music bed was just about right to support the vocal. And a very nice vocal it is!

Good song, enjoyed.

You really did an amazing job on this one. The low tones really flows smoothly, and the whole thing has a nice laid back vibe to it that I found really easy to take.

Thanks for sharing smile

Hey, I had edited that out as I try not to get into mix comments unless the poster specifically asks for them plus It is so subjective.
And I later noticed you had not mentioned the mix. We'll listen again when we get to the monitors.
Cheers,
Bud

Thanks, Stefan. The backing track was various RTs I "auditioned" until I found the sound I wanted. Although I hadn't really thought about it, I suppose the enunciation comes from my years as a radio announcer in the 80s.

A really superb production, vocally excellent and the mix is outstanding.

I really enjoyed the resonator, which drives the backing quite uniquely.

Excellent.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
