Rob this is excellent. I liked your vocals and backing tracks. Your chord progression is also very good.

Hello, Rob

Really nice song!
Your vocal fits this perfectly!
The melody is very good.
It is very effective to change the key to major on the way.
It is reminiscent of Jacque Brel a little bit.
The sound of your language is very beautiful.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Nicely done!! Really pretty classical sounding music! I really like the change from minor to major and the way it worked with the optimism in the voice! I would use a little reverb on the vocal. Very nice!! Take care. Greg

Hi Dutchman,

Ik dacht al een tijdje de enige Nederlander op dit forum te zijn, maar nee dus. Mooi!
(I thought for a while I was the only Dutchman on this forum, but no. Nice!)

I continue in English because of all the others...
The melody is very nice, starting with a piano and a cello (I heard).
The -Dutch- lyrics are very good, melancholic and also cynical. I like that.
I know for sure you have an audience for this kind of songs in the Netherlands. They love to dream things get better, while they know it doesn't. When do you play in Haarlem?
Lots of succes with your album.

Hans

Arrangement, performance and production are very well done. You have a passion for your music and it shows. This particular style of vocal is very hard to get right and you nailed it.

Thank you for sharing this, I really enjoyed it.

Hi Rob,

It looks like I was the first one to listen to your song on YouTube... I'm proud... it is seldom I come first in anything.. smile

Jokes aside... it is a nice song, well performed and well composed... I listened to a few more and I am quite impressed although I don't understand a word of the lyrics on the other songs... but they for sure sounds good!

I especially liked "Fotoalbum"... did you play the piano on that one yourself? If that is BiaB, it for sure sounds good...

Thanks a lot for sharing!

Cool!

I haven't heard the bowed bass used much, and it does a good job helping to set the mood here.

A minimal arrangement, and very effective. The strings sound excellent here.

I enjoyed listening. Well done.

Nit: There's a "click" at 3:26.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hi Will, thanks for your kind remarks about my songs.
The piano in fotoalbum is a kontakt piano played as a Midi super track by a BIAB-artist.

Rob,

A pretty song and nice production—particularly like that string quartet kicking in on the chorus, followed by the accordion fill. Nicely done—enjoyed my listen!

All my best to you,

Deej

Hi rob,

This sounds wonderful.

I love your arrangement and the bowed bass is excellent. I've tried to use it a couple of times but I haven't yet found the type of music with which is sits comfortably.

I'm very impressed!

All the best,
Noel

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
