Hi All,
I've just had my first dabble with the looping feature in RealBand. My understanding is that the loop that I insert on to a track will follow the chord sequence specified in Chord Sheet view. But not matter how I try to generate this loop, it doesn't appear to be influenced by the specified chord progression.

Below are the parameters that I used:

These loops may not be ACIDized (i.e. contain key and tempo information within the WAV files). May of them don't btw. I noted from your screenshot that these are not loops that came packaged with BiaB, which all happen to contain that information.

Note that many sites that sell loops give you the option to tick off a box that will restrict the offerings to those which contain tempo/key info...

You may be able to open the loop in RB the set the loop setting then save as acidized loop

I agree, but these loops are acidized, that's really why I included the dialog pic.

I have been trying to get this sorted since July.
See pasted thread below for history of requests to PG Music (start from the bottom).
Good luck,
Mike

Hello Mike,
We couldn't explain why it hasn't be fixed yet, sorry. We will certainly reiterate the problem to our developers though so they are made aware of it again.
Thank you,

HI there,
I’ve waited very patiently for this problem to be resolved (since July) so you can imagine how disappointed I was when the latest RealBand update (5) did not fix the issue. Why does it work OK in Band In A Box but not in RealBand. Please help.
Mike

Hello Mike,
We have tested this and we appear to be having the same issue. We can forward this to the developers and let them know.
If you wish to re-download and install build 3, you can do so by simply going to the support page on our website and downloading and reinstalling it with the program closed.
We hope this helps!
Thank you,

Hi Derek,
When I right click on a track (the whole track or a selection) and choose 'Select and Generate Loops' the loops dialogue box appears.
I can see all the loops in the folder (D:\BB\REALTRACKS\Loops). I select a suitable loop and press 'OK'.
Nothing happens (except the word "Untitled' changes from black to green on the track.
The same scenario occurs when I try to generate loops using the top menu.
When I asked for help in the RealBand forum, veteran user Rharv said the loops feature 'appears broken at the moment'.
I recently upgraded to RealBand Build 4. Could this be the problem?
If so, how do I reinstall Build 4 or go back to Build 3?
Thanks,
Mike

Might want to edit the above post and change your email addresses so they aren't public.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
