I just purchased a used version of BIAB 2008.5. It only allows you to input chords on 4 beats per measure, but I have an original tune that has two chords on one beat. Think the opening to Eagles Heartache Tonight. Is there a "work around" or "trick the machine" to that. Thanks in advance.

BiaB still has a maximum of 4 beats per measure. A workaround may be to purchase 'Expanded Styles' from Norton Music. Contact Norton Music for more info.
BIAB & RB2024 Win.(Audiophile), Sonar Platinum, Cakewalk by Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M Monitors, Pioneer Active Monitors, AKG K271 Studio H'phones

2008. Wow. You're in luck - 2020 is just about due in December usually with big initial discounts.
As a guitarist I'm often faced on BB with this sort of thing. A 'possible' workround is to treat those opening bars as 2 beat bars using F5 to call up the change menu. When you input that second chord use Chord settings for that second chord to Push 1/8th. When done always use F5 to reset the song back to 4 beats. We're 'working' this weekend so not at PC so cant test it but it might be worth dickering about with Pushes that way. HTH Ian

That won't work, Ian. Yes, if you push beat two by 1/8 you will be able to get a chord on the "and" of beat one, but you won't be able to get a chord on beat two because you have already pushed it. There is no way to do it at the moment, unless you play the part yourself. It's been a wishlist item forever to allow more than four beats per bar, maybe this year it will happen?

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
