There are many times when I want to kill an entire melody or solo track that I've recorded, but if I use Melody .. Edit Melody Track .. Form .. Kill Entire Melody, it wipes out the instrument as well, and it's a pain to re-select it especially when using a VST instrument with custom settings. So what I've done as a workaround is to move the Melody track to the Solo track, or vice-versa, and then delete it from the other place. As long as I'm recording to a single MIDI track, it works fine. But it seems like there should be a better way. I'd really like to hear of anyone has a better idea how to handle that scenario.

Not sure if this comes close, but you could simply set the track volume to zero?

Another way to delete the MIDI data is to open up the Piano Roll display, rubber-band a group of notes and press Delete.

I like your ideas, Trev. I'm a fan of the 'cut the volume back to zero' method. Adding on to Videotrack's thoughts... 1. When in Piano Roll Mode that Trevor mentions, right-click on one of the notes (represented by horizontal bars), select "Select all notes on all channels", and then either press "Delete" or right-click again and choose "Cut". 2. Under the "Edit" menu, use the "Erase from...to..." option and select what you want to erase. Regards, Noel

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
