I really liked the instrumentation and vocals, especially their spatial placement. Great job with all of that. The lyrics are okay, I felt they could've been better with some effort to avoid cliches. Others liked the lyrics, so it's probably just me.

Hi Peter and Leon,

That's one quandary you described in your lyrics.
I know a lot of guys like Vladimir nowadays. they seem to gain support somehow.
I thought we did a lot on education, but I really doubt now.
Although throwing bombs on them is not the solution. Preventing people to vote for these stupids is a better way...

But, I like your song not only for these lyrics, but it had something in it that let me think of the sixties and seventies.
Those were good times, although we also suffered from Bad Men then, unfortunately. Maybe its human nature we let that happen.

Hans

Hi Peter,

Cool!

Don't hear that many protest songs these days, but this is a really good one.

Clever lyrics with a good driving beat and nice guitars.

Still got a few hearing problems, but the mix sounds good to me in my present state!

Cheers, ROG.

Cool tune guys!! Yeah, I can relate to that message!! However, there are exceptions.......I love to see Harvey Weinstein stumbling out of the courthouse with his walker....where did that come from? Really fun song, and well put together, played and sung!! Take care. Greg

HA!

A good lyric throughout.

Cool opening.

A big sound throughout. (I am not a fan of the drums with the constant open hi-hat - but I know that is a personal preference) The outro guitar is sweet! (the drums under that are good (no open hi-hat) - smile ). Cool organ!

A rousing beginning to 2020. Look forward to many wonderful offerings from from Peter & Leon!!

Thanks floyd -
I'm sometimes a bit lazy when playing around with the drums!
Appreciate the comments.

An excellent lyric that`s fun in a biting way- my favourite swipe:

You won’t see him get his just deserts
He’ll die in bed surrounded by his family
His obituary will say he was so manly"

An excellent opener for the year!

Thanks for your powerful song to start this year! A very good instrument selection and nice rolling rhythm to highlight the strong message, I hope the bad men will get what they deserve ASAP by some divine intervention smile Great guitar solo.

Oh it’s really quite a quandary that I’m in"

Something we have oft discussed. Think it was Bob Dylan that referred to folks
who'd rather pull you down in the hole they are in rather than come up where
you are. A quandary indeed.

To ice the great write you guys provided some fine vocals and guitar chops...
as expected smile

The mix sounds excellent on the monitors...everyone is hittin' the note.

Great thought provoking listen from two of our favs!

J&B

PS Definitely a bad lookin' dude in the cover art!

Thanks for the comments very much appreciated.

I like the message.
Good song, well song!

I've got a few songs with a similar theme.
Music/Songs gives me an outlet for my outrage.

The age-old complaint...and the answer is as difficult as the question. The instrumental breaks are particularly strong and the guitar work really, really effective. Much enjoyed.

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks

MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:

There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:

1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track

Have your own program tip to share? Post it on our Tips & Tricks forum!

Review - Band-in-a-Box® 2023 for Windows is Overflowing with Features!

Dennis posted his very thorough Band-in-a-Box® review recently, where he dives into some of the new features added with version 2023: Sound-Guy's Band-in-a-Box Review

Read his thoughts on the Download & Install Manager, partial track regeneration, Playable RealTracks, Audio Editing, the addition of SynthMaster, the VST DAW Plugin, and more!

"Band-in-a-Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is, without negative connotation, a monster of a program. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. No DAW can do some of the things BIAB does, while BIAB can do a lot that DAWs do."
