I am working with a imported classical midi today that is out of time half of the song, in two different places. So, then if I time-shift the whole song, it just transfer the out of time problem to that other part that WAS right in the first place. Do I overlook something here? In insert beat I can chose bar to do it in, but in timeshift, there i no such option, as far as I can see.. Any way to solve it? Workaround? If not, why is it not an option to select bar to do it in? I cannot use beat, because it is out of time only by 30 ticks...

Hi Trygve, BIAB does not make this easy because the program is not designed for this. How effective doing it in BIAB would be, I don't know. Below is what I'd try. The way that I would do this is to use Piano Roll mode. I'm guessing that the MIDI file is on the Melody channel as a multitrack MIDI. When in Piano Roll mode, 1. filter the display to show the required MIDI channel 2. select the range of notes that need to be moved by 30 ticks (which is a 1/16th note -- also called a semiquaver) 3. set snap to grid on with 1/16th note resolution (this may or may not be needed) 4. drag the notes to the correct position The above said, I'd personally choose to fix the file in Realband or Reaper, save it as a new MIDI and then use the corrected MIDI in BIAB. Hope the above helps, Noel P.S. As an aside, you might be interested in listening to my latest song below. Steve Young used a ton of MIDI when he did the arrangement.

Hi Trygve, I'm glad that the solution worked for you! Piano Roll is a very useful tool. And thanks for listening to my and Steve's song, too. Much appreciated. I LOVE the nickname Solfeggius... musical and classy all rolled into one single word All the best, Noel P.S. I hope that you are nowhere near that volcano that is being a bit troublesome at the moment.

Stylenames = 8.3 also as far as the actual file name is concerned. It would be nice if, when we make our own customized styles, be able to actually name them something like "Big Band with Nashville Brushes.sty" at the file name level instead of say, "_BBWNVB" (Big Band With Nashville Brushes). Every time time I make my own style up I automatically reach for a floppy disk to save it on. Yes, that would be nice as well... Seems like a lot of the issues like 4 letter file suffixes aren't really a major problem. there's lots that BIAB does right! Yes, I see ur point. BUT if we happens to have hundreds of .midi files, would it not be nice IF we do not have to rename everyone by hand ? Anyway, there is a workaround that I will give a try; Bulk Extension Changer. Simple tool to change file extensions https://sourceforge.net/projects/b-e-c/files/latest/download

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
