Bob,

Considering that my light continues to dim, I will accept that as a sincere compliment. This forum is where I come to get my battery charged. I love and thank every one of you.

We seem to enjoy 'symmetry' where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. I am thrilled to be a little cog in that wheel.

Pat,

I understand that they ordered "Humbuckers" on the motors to minimize feedback on tight corners. ( chortle )

That's great Donny, I too get great service from the West LA VA. It's across the freeway from the UCLA Medical Center and pretty much all the docs in the various clinics are all wearing UCLA badges. A lot of them are very cute young girls too. Well, girls to me haha they're mostly late 20's and yes everybody there treats all the vets like royalty. I see some guys in those high tech chairs and will talk to them about it if I get the chance while waiting for my appointment or labs or whatever.

I won't bore you with details but I've had two fairly serious things happen and one was with my eyes and the other was a gastro thing. In both cases the doctors were the department heads and they wanted things done a certain way and knew how to throw their weight around. One dept head is a retired bird colonel who was reviewing my file and wanted my procedure to be done in the VA's O.R. and not at a local clinic that I had been scheduled at. I knew nothing about it until I was called into his office where he said there was the possibility of complications and the clinic wouldn't be able to handle it so he intervened and got me rescheduled at the main hospital. He also told me about his staff who he had hand picked, he said they were the best and wanted them to handle me. Pretty cool I thought. Everything went fine with no issues.

The only thing that bothers me about the VA is when I found out the younger vets from the post 9/11 era are not getting lifetime benefits like we get. It's basically 5 years and they're done with some exceptions. That sucks but that's what Congress did years ago.

Bob,

I recall some of your health issues and feel so sorry for you.

I think that they are pursuing the second-hand Agent Orange theory with me but I think it is a red herring. I deserved a stroke when considering my weight and lifestyle.

Best wishes, my friend.

Much like Edison, I often announce my successes way ahead of time as a self-motivator.

Edison said: "Progress?, PROGRESS? Yes, we now know thousands of things that won't work!"

Imagine please, a badly bent old Irishman composing in BIAB from his supercharged wheelchair. Hold that thought. Stay tuned, old pal.

J&B,

It's always great to be encouraged by two whom I admire so much. If anyone qualifies as the "light of this forum" it's you two.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
