I have done a similar request in the past. The issue is, it would not be clear what I am asking for, unless you have tried (or seen a demo of the) Scaler from Plugin boutique.
So, my request is either please consider something similar instead of current chord builder or integrate chord building VSTs such as this so you can use it streamlined with chord grid of BIAB.
If we did not have "chord builder" in BIAB, I would not even considered such request, but if the one which is there currently is due for an update, please consider all the good points, including workflow of the Scaler. It is an amazing tool for chord / scales exploration.
P.S. I tried using Scaler in BIAB in the past, it is not smooth. There is a way of routing, so it acts as a "companion" but not well integrated.
Matt, You have to insert it as an instrument, not FX. Also make sure dll was installed in correct VST path.
Given all the music theory behind BIAB, I believe something similar can be done "in house". Pipeline's "chord picker" is a very good attempt, but because it is scripted to work in auto key mode, it is not fully integrated. If it is not on agenda, perhaps a better integration with Scaler and/or similar VSTs.

+++1000 ! I tried the chord-Re-harmonizer a few times. I was surprised that I had not seen it before. BUT what STUNNED me most was WHY has this NOT been implemented as DEFAULT way for BIAB to detect chords from a Midifile? I mean, we KNOW what midifile we import, right? Is it Jazz, New age, Pop, a.s.o. ALL the styles listed in the Reharmonizer.. So, that's a great idea. AND, I got some really nice chords from it that I even never heard about it before...
BUT, what surprised me most was that it re-harmonize from the melody line ONLY.. If we want to import chords from a midifile, we are told to tell what channel the bass part is, and what channel the chording track is. So I ASSUME that is what is needed to figure out the best chords. But in the Reharmonizer the melody line is enough? That does not make any sense to me...

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!
With this update, there's more control when saving images from the Print Preview window, we've added defaults to the MultiPicker for sorting and font size, updated printing options, updated RealTracks and other content, and addressed user-reported issues with the StylePicker, MIDI Soloists, key signature changes, and more!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
