Hiya guys, good to be back composing again

First tune I've composed for ages due to bronchiectasis, which means I get infections week after week. Anyhoo the tune was composed for a dear family friend ( details over on YT )
RTs used...........
RealTracks in style: 533:Bass, Electric, 12-8 Crystal Sw 065
RealTracks in song: 2870:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm CelticAirDave Ev 085

MIDI SuperTracks in song: 2058:Strings, Rhythm CelticAir Ev 085
Strings were multi layered in reason 10 and the accordion melody was played on my Roland FRX-4 digital accordion using my own tuning.
Comments as always most welcome.

Furry,

Pretty piece of music—very old world, very calming and serene; haunting in its beauty. Could easily serve as the backing to a movie, short film, and the like. Nice to have you back . . . and wishing you all the best on the health front. Stay well!

Kind regards,

Deej

It's certainly good to have you back, Graham!

I agree with Deej. Your composition is soothing and serene. Lovely mix of instruments--just enough for the mood and the theme.

Graham,
I have some idea of your tribulation with bronchiectasis as my mother-in-law lived most of her life with it.
If the antibiotics don't slow you down the infection does.
A VERY calm, serene and pretty.
The layered strings work a treat. I found that doing some radical EQ to each layer brought out the differences a little to enhance the ensemble feel.
Lovely stuff.

Cheers

A really lovely and relaxing piece. Those celtic trills in the lead-lines are beautiful as is the overall progression and the way it wraps up. Really nice one.

Thanks a million, I've always found you compose the best ones through sheer emotion whether it's happy or sad

Hi Ray and many thanks for the comment. I've about 4 layers of strings & choirs one panned left one panned right & so on.
I get as much enjoyment out of creating the mix as I do playing it these days

So sorry to hear about your health! The song you posted is absolutely lovely. Here's hoping you get better! I especially love how you layered the strings together.

Oh my word, this is SO beautiful. Sorry to hear about your ill health, and so sorry to hear of the reason you wrote this song for. But ... it's a stunning, stunning track - beautiful and uplifting - exactly what I needed this morning! God bless - it has really struck a chord with me, so thanks for sharing!

A very sweet celebration of life, furry. It makes me close my eyes and drift, while letting go of all the physical burdens and embracing all that is truly important. Thank you! Stay well!

Graham,
Beautiful relaxing piece of music. Nice accordion playing! I bet, it is times lighter then traditional instruments, so it does not feel like a workout in the gym after playing smile Thank you for sharing!

Hi Misha, yeah it's a hell of a lot lighter than the other accordions I own. Easier to play and it does away with the need for midi when playing live. It can be a right pain at times getting the sound right in many expanders I've used. The main beauty of it is that you can tune the instrument yourself to your own liking. Still havn't heard all the sounds on this beast yet.
Thanks again for your comments

Maestro Graham, the master of the accordion!

This is absolutely beautiful.

Everything about this is just plain perfect!

PS - sorry to hear about your health problems.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Hi Robert, thanks for the comment. I've been out of the loop for a while as I just wasn't in the mood to compose, but then a few months ago I had two or three requests from people asking me to compose tunes for them or for loved ones. Have done about 1/2 doz or so this years so far.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
