Will I Remember Tomorrow?

No story. No glory. Just a song.

Real Tracks:
RT1119 Guitar, 12-String Acoustic, Strumming
RT543 Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Dreamy
RT408 Guitar, Resonator, Background Allis
RT1267 Synth Pad, PopShining
RT2667 Pedal Steel, Background DreamySingleNote
RT2266 Synth, BellPad, Rhythm 80sPopMelodic
RT3458 Bass, Electric, AmericanaPop8thsSteve
RealDrums-PopAmerican

I used a few royalty-free loops in the soundscape at the end.

Lyrics:

It’s a long way to Monday without you
White walls and wailing, I won’t make it through

Is there any love left that I could borrow?
I won’t forget you; will I remember tomorrow?

Night watered breezes tangled through your hair
Who’s running their fingers when I’m not there

Is there any love left that I could borrow?
I won’t forget you; will I remember tomorrow?

Morphine kisses
Stitches with misses
Infectious calumny
Lay your hands on me

Your jazzy rhythm walk keeps repeating
Last night I felt my heart stop its beating

Is there any love left that I could borrow?
I won’t forget you; will I remember tomorrow?

"No story. No glory. Just a song." No, just a masterpiece!

I really liked this song. You vocal, harmonies, instrumentation, lyrics and mix are all top shelf. My toe was tapping from the git go.

This is definitely a winner that you should be very proud of.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Could easily fit right in to a movie soundtrack. Please get this song out there for the world to enjoy...everyone has been in this moment at one time or another.

I won’t forget you; will I remember tomorrow? is a very evocative line. No story? So I get to invent one with clues from your song? Cool!

Loved the changes. Those sus4ths are nearly always in my toolbox...such a nice "reaching" quality to them. Now, tell me there aren't any and I'll slink away embarrassed.

Band and voice are in top form. I really enjoyed this.

The harmonies are ace and lift the excellent song beyond the present...very late 60s coolness.

Hi Ezekiel,

This is a very good song, with strong (but sometimes difficult to translate)lyrics.
The way your song is composed makes it works out hypnotic 9in a way) and especially intriguing.
I like that in a song.

Have a nice day,
Hans

A really nice production. Build well.

Cool vocals. The harmonies sound so tight I'd guess they were generated?? - really well done (live? melodyne? BIAB?) - nice.

A lyric that really keeps the ear and the mind engaged.

There is an interesting 60's vibe to this that cannot be pinned down - folk stuff like Peter, Paul & Mary or even The Mamas and the Papas...with some Lemmon Pipers and Strawberry Alarm Clock mixed in...

Well done.

That line and this "Night watered breezes tangled through your hair

Enjoy whatever happens!

Sometimes "just a song" is just as powerful! I think you did an especially good job on the vocals. They really helped set the tone.

Thanks for sharing!

Mario, Notebynote, Ray, Hans, Floyd, Marty, Rob, Tunemonger, Ember:

Thanks so much for listening to my little song and for posting such positive comments.

Tangmo:

Your ears are correct. I was tooling around with the chorus first (Bb6, Abmaj7, Cmaj7, Cm7, G, Gsus4), then decided to write the verses around a sort of drone of G, Gsus4 repeating. Thanks for your feedback.

Loved it. A more "serious" song if that makes sense ... where the vocals and, of course, the writing (for me) are what "steal the show". Great job.

One of the first things that really impressed me was the chord progressions.

The lyric phrasing is superb.

All of this absolutely complemented with perfect vocal delivery.

Yes, a masterpiece.

Ezekiel's Storm,
Arrangement is very (Very!) strong. Definitely not "just" a song. It would take me years to write something complex like this smile Vocals & production is pro level. Enjoyed it! Thank you for sharing.

I enjoyed the smooth chording, the sweet sounding band and your silky voice. Beautiful lyrical images. Nicely flowing build up to the excellent psychedelic ending.

I have to write brief thanks to you guys. Grading and lesson has been eating up my time more than a WalMart shopper on free hot dog Sunday.

I appreciate your comments. You are much too kind. As for my vocals, digital tech makes me sound better than I am. However, I think I sound best when I'm hearing me in my head, but then on the recording, I think WTF, I ain't putting that out there! smirk

Deceptively simple with a really good chord progression and imaginative production that leans into 60`s psychedelic pop ( an era I enjoy very much).
Excellent vocals and a very good mix.

My favorite of yours Scott! I love the twists and turns of the melody and chord structure in the verses! VERY effective use of strings in this! Your vocals are excellent! I feel this is your best work that I've heard! So many good things happening with all the instrumentation! One of the top songs posted in the forum as far I'm concerned! Thanks, Torrey

Ezekiel,

Love, just love the vocals and harmonies on this—really well executed, so pretty on the ear. Clean production that keeps pulling the listener in, more and more as the song progresses. And then that magnetic bridge. Very impressive work here, and a truly engaging listen! Great work!

All my best to you,

Deej

Thanks, Robert. I was aiming for a bit of psychedelia with a brief tip of the hat to Klaatu's "Sub-Rosa Subway" ending.

Well, it didn't take long for folks to fill up the superlatives cup!

And well deserved it is.

We have little to add to all the goodness that has been stated...
The write, vocals, band and mix are all outstanding.

We will mention how much we like writes that let the listener
connect a few dots. Great example of that!

Much enjoyed it.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
