Hello all, here's a song I just finished a few days ago, "Red Sky Blues". Made with Pro Tools 10. You can also find my other music here:

Hi, Cory. Nice bass; I assume that's you. Did you play all of the guitars? I like the harmony, too.

Hello, Mr. Williams...

"This time with feeling" you said casually before commencing your recording of, Red Sky Blues. Honestly, as far as I'm concerned, you needn't have spoken out loud that wish (though I know it was simply your instructions to your fellow musicians, right?), 'cuz your vocal and instrumental performance revealed such a depth of feeling, perhaps bittersweet in taste, that it caused me to close my eyes willingly and 'fall' into the song, as though my heart was waiting for the experience of listening to it. To my ears, it has a kind-of-familiar, laidback, 60's rock-bluesiness sound that was helped along immensely by the fullness and color of the descending chords strummed by the rhythm guitar. It's a bit mesmerising, actually, a song that could make a body stop whatever else it was doing just to 'vibe' on the sense of the place and time where the thoughts expressed in the lyrics came to life.

I think Red Sky Blues creates a deeply-felt mood that has a musical 'presence' all its own, Mr. Williams. I'm real glad I gave it a listen.

Truly,

LOREN (a.k.a. 'bluage')

Hello Corey,
As is customary, it'd be nice to know what you played, what parts are BIAB, what parts are other PG Music things and some etc.
To me it sounds like you've added a vocal to a backing from elsewhere. The vocal doesn't quite sit in the mix but is very good.
The drums sound like someone went berserk in EZDrummer and then added a different reverb to the rest of the song to the result.

Cheers

Your song captured my attention.

Your vocal conveyed the emotion of the lyrics well.

Keep the songs coming!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
