This is my first post of 2020. I was going through the different settings of the new 2020 BIAB and found this in the Style Picker. The demo song sounded really nice so I just quickly put some chords in main window and let it go. Really liked the backtrack so I flipped it over to Reaper and blended two different guitar tracks together.

The Harp

Title: The Harp
File:Harp.SGU
Key=C , Tempo 75, Length (m:s)=3:37
32 bar chorus, from bar 1 to bar 32. Repeat x2 choruses

Song is saved with Volume, Pan, Reverb, Chorus, Bank0,
Style is _RAMPART.STY (Rampart Celtic Harp Serenade)

RealTracks in style: ~2474:Bass, Acoustic, Held Ev 085
RealTracks in style: 2773:Harp, Rhythm Celtic16ths Ev16 075
The drums were standard drum kit.

Two Guitars Gibson SG (Slide) and a Gibson ES335
Amp Marshall 1974X
Effects (2)Eventide H9's (Delay and Compression)

Scott, this is pure magic. Beautifully played and the harp just give it that amazing sound. Pure bliss from start to finish, and the guitars coming in around the 3 min mark is exquisite

Hello Scott,

I didn't think you were such a romantic, doing songs with a harp.
I was thinking of doing such a thing, but now you are ahead of me!
It is a very nice, sweet, somewhat dreamy song. I like that, although it's instrumental...
I was wondering what was on your mind making this melody?

Cool! There are some interesting melodic choices there that give it more edge than a typical new-agey sound tune. smile

Scott,

Nice. Guitar sounds good. The backing track make a nice landscape for it. The addition of the slide was nice.

I am a sucker for a harp, too, this was like catnip for me. Your playing fit well and gave it a nice dimension sonically. Good work!

Scott - thaht's lovely.
sweet & precise except for that little spot at 0.41 where the two guitars don't seem to like each other.
Well done playing & blending the guitars. The delay is nice too.

Hi Scott ...

Well, this is a little something different from you ... and a real pleasant listen! The music just seems to float, surrounding our ears with delicate wafting. love the sound of your guitar. Super playing!!!

I played a Cherry red ES-335 for many years ... traded it for an ES-175. Now play a Fender Tele and a Stromberg Monterey. Again. really, really nice song!

Best to you ...

Alan

The harp and other backing is very nice but
the centerpiece of this is your sublime melodic
playing.

You make excellent use of those Gibsons.

Superb!!!

Thanks Dave Glad you liked this song. I got this ES335 on a trade for my PRS. It has a little bigger body style than I am use to but getting use to it. Has a very warm full sound.

Scott,
A lovely vehicle to introduce your slide playing; really cool at 3:10 where you the guitars duet .
Cinematic and somehow crossing musical cultures- very good!

Scott, this is really super. That is one sweet sounding axe! Your playing technique makes it sing!

Great backing track and slide work also.

Graham, Tune Monger Thanks for checking out the song.

Ray thanks for checking out the song. Yes I there were a few dissonant areas. These are two completely different tracks and I don't ever play anything the same way twice (memory thing) lol. I tried to blend the two tracks with volume changes to see how well they would sit together. Glad you like the song.

Alan thanks for taking the time to check out the song. Glad you liked the song. I am growing on this 335> I find it a little bigger that I am use to it. Almost switched it out for a 339 but it sounds very good live. Hard to let go.

Thanks Janice and Bud. Glad you liked the song.

Thanks Bob for the awesome comments they are appreciated.

Thanks Robert. Playing the slide everyday trying to get a handle on it. Very different but easier on the hands.

Thanks Torrey Glad you liked the song. Yes finding it difficult to come up with new material. Strange I play everyday and very once and awhile one just pops up I am able to run with it.

Thanks Janne Glad you liked the song.

Thanks Vicarn for checking out the song it is appreciated.

Thanks Mario Glad you like the song. Been really enjoying your pieces as well.

There's a great sense of harmony here. I don't even know what genre or style (besides harp which is not a style) to call this, but I really like it. It's not easy to blend those sounds together between harp and guitar, but you've pulled it off wonderfully.

This is sheer stunningness. Nothing short of that. Would be completely at home as a piece by a classical composer or something. The "stereo guitar effect" at around the 3 minute mark takes it to a new level, too. Bravo.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
