Dan (MusicStudent) got me going on Youtube this AM. Came across this. Wow, this group Snarky Puppy is really good...very tight! The horns add a nice Chicago feel to the song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_XJ_s5IsQc&list=RDkk0WRHV_vt8&index=2Jeff

Right, thanks to you and Jim Fogle, I changed to link to the correct one. Just listened to Snarky Puppy again...these guys really are good...and they're having such a good time with it all!

They are terrific. When I first heard the name, I thought it was a joke. It isn't. I played their chart, Blinky, last year as a guest with a college group. The music feels insane at first, but as you get to know it, it hangs right. Here is their recording of the song I played: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQ99OMlI5cg&list=RDkk0WRHV_vt8&index=26Each chart is about as diverse as it gets, and the ending of this one is pure funk.

Agree...a very good band. After listening for a few minutes they somehow reminded of a more energetic/funkified Chuck Mangione. I love the funk. When I was in college (geology/music major) during the Pleistocene Epoch they came and performed in our band room....very cool, I might add. Back to it....

Yes! So glad to see Snarky Puppy getting some love in the forums here. Probably my favourite modern jazz group. I'd love to see them live one days.
Cheers, Deryk

Snarky Puppy is all over the Keyboard Corner forum because of Corey Henry. He's one of the new, modern monster keyboard players. Killer gospel organ live in church. Check out those vids it will blow your mind, killer acoustic piano, killer Herbie style outer space synth player, he does it all.
Now, the big question is when will PGM come up with a Snarky Puppy style? Haha, good luck with that...

Sensationally disciplined musicians.
Not a weak link to be found, anywhere. The horn section is knockout.

Jeff,
I'm late getting here but I've been a Snarky Puppy fan for a few years now. They are top class musicians.
Thanks for posting the link.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
