T,

A nice first post. A good song. Nice vocals and harmonies.
The tracks are well put together - building at the appropriate spots.

Good pumping rhythm to it. Cool bass. The bits of piano are nice.

Good mix. Catchy! Enjoyed it.

Welcome to the Showcase...

Sounds nice! The mix is very nice, and as floyd jane says, the harmonies are quite good.

Solid work all around, and enjoyable listen.

You may not have Al Stewart's voice, but your vocals are pleasant to listen to, and that's all that matters.

Welcome to the forum! laugh

Cool song, George. Love the harmony. The band sounds really good. Love the piano parts, and that driving bass. The video was really cool, too. Keep 'em coming.

Enjoy whatever happens!

This is really a good song!

Hello!

And welcome to the forum. As many have already said, this is a great place to hang out, particularly if you're a musician. You'll get lots of helpful input, if you want it, and a ton of friendly comments from forum members.

I really enjoyed your song. Everything about it lays very nicely in my ears. Good choice of backing tracks, excellent arrangement and a sweet vocal. The vocal harmony is also excellent.

I am primarily a musician and songwriter, but do a little singing when I feel the need to molest the airways.

Hope you stick around and offer some more really nice tunes like this one.

Wishing you the very best ...

Alan

Nice, does have Al Stewart style cadence.
That's not a bad thing as Past Present & Future was a superb LP (tough mostly unknown as it was the one before YOTCat).
Good work.

Hi Greg (Achordocaster),
I think I just hit lucky on finding a 'band' that was suitable for the song I had. The choices and menus can be quite daunting can't they! Still, can't complain of having too much choice.

A BIG welcome from me! Especially bringing that level of writing and production.

You really know how to put a song together! Maybe new to the forums, but definitely not new to songwriting.

Really enjoying the song! I'm excited to hear more from you :-)

Hi Mark,

Welcome to this forum. Hope we hear a lot more from you in the near future.
This is a very nice song you made! I really enjoyed it. The melody is very nice. As nearly everyone mentioned here your vocals and the harmonies are very well! You made good use of BiaB, especially with the strings.
At some moments I think the band is a bit too soft (volume) for the vocals. Mostly in the first part of your song and certainly not the whole time. It could be I'm the only one telling this. That doesn't mean I'm talking rubbish, it means the others don't dare to say ;-)

Bye,
Hans

Hi Birchwood, thank you so much for giving this song a listen and taking the time to comment. I think you're probably right about the balance between band and vocals in the first half. I think I was trying to 'build' the song by keeping the 'dirty guitar' and drums lower - perhaps I should have lowered vocals too

This is a very good showing. You've got a solid handle on the instrumentation, the mixing, the dynamics, melody and harmony. All the pieces are in place, and it really moves along nicely, and is a very pleasant listen. Vocals fit the song quite well. Excellent use of BIAB too. I hope you will continue to post more songs here so we can see what else you have up your sleeve smile.

Thank you EdZ314 for taking the time to listen and comment thoughtfully on my song. Much appreciated. I don't normally write this type of music, but was pleasantly surprises to find a BIAB accompaniment that worked well.

Bramley Studio,

First off, very impressive first effort--and welcome to the forum. Terrific song and great mix for your first time out. Agree your vocals are very reminiscent of Al Stewart, though maybe with a little more of an 80s lean. Like the female backing vocals toward the end of the song—nice touch. Good stuff—I’ll look forward to hearing more from you.

Kind regards

Deej

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
