Apologies if this is wrong for me to post here on this subject .
My son and his girlfriend have been doing a bit of touring they are now in lockdown in Ao nang ,I am looking in the hope someone on the forum is from or near there , looking for a bit of advice?.

Krabi province is quite a bit south of us. Things are just beginning to "ramp up" in terms of local response, so they are changing rapidly and suddenly. If you want a "forum" to contact to ask more specific and timely questions beyond the official, I'd recommend thaivisa.com. Most of the time replies are on point and reasonably accurate. Like everywhere on the net, take what is given with a grain of salt and pay attention to the dates of the post. The replies are just from folks. Even the admins are "civilians".
I'd be hesitant to give any answer to any questions because I just don't know their situation, nationality, or what the future holds. I've done little research myself as we have no intention of leaving. I can tell you this, though, there are far worse places in the world to be stuck for a while. Our best to them.

Tangmo Thanks very much for your reply I will visit the forum you have given me , Your reply has settled me down a good deal as I do not do that much travelling at all and always holiday in my own country for fear of flying from a young age.

You're very welcome. I hope when this is over they will have some great stories to tell. That area is very nice, and not overly touristed. I hope they behave themselves well in terms of how to "act" responsibly in a health crisis. You know that song "send lawyers, guns, and money"? I wouldn't worry about the lawyers and guns. I hope so too, They are just worried in case the accommodation side of things go , i.e. places closing ,
Flights are up in price and although willing to pay, there is no flights as people have payed and flights not arriving with no refund and busy airport with people sleeping etc.
He is trying to get a more secure accommodation to wait it out.
