I'm so glad to be back on here posting with you! It's been too long. This is a song I wrote back in 2008 to help make myself feel better when I was going through lots of heavy stress. It's called MERCY (God Is Good).
I shortened it from it's original epic length, added a few tweaks to the original tracks, of course added some new tracks plus added a special guest - my husband. I Hope it lifts your spirit during this stressful time.
As always thank you for your time listening and any constructive thoughts.
The lead Vox track is the original one from 2008 recorded in RB. Instruments are all Realtracks/RDs and a BIAB midi track. I don't remember and cannot find the original style. Mixed in Reaper.
After listening to Mercy (God is Good), I realized with a sense of pleasant surprise that I had forgotten what a fine singer you are . Your vocal intro was sung in as gentle a manner as a mother would sing to her new-born infant, but at the same time, it also sounded like a quiet, two-note wake-up call to the masses to come to you, to listen to you, and heed your reassuring message. And then, those drums! POW! They really put the song 'on wheels' and sent it on its jam-tastic, upbeat way.
But, most of all, I'm very impressed with the song's arrangement! Lots of instruments: sax, strings, a choir, your voice and its harmonization, changes in the drums' rhythms, bass, piano, acoustic guitar, all really smoothly blended in an imgainative way, musically and mix-wise.
Your husband has a commanding, yet warm voice that was perfect for the monologue he provided -- wouldn't be surprised if he was a minister !!!
Truly,
LOREN (a.k.a. 'bluage')

Nice song Josie. So good to be reminded of God's love for all of us. The song has a lot of variety and I can hear a large church choir singing it. Very uplifting worship song.

Exactly!
This is the best new worship song I have heard in a long time. Everything about this is just plain perfect.
This should be played on not only radio stations but all radio stations. Everyone needs to hear this right now!
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Josie, The original was way before my time here- its a lovely uplifting song in this new guise with your sweetly held notes the highlight. Welcome back!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
