The Tutorial videos are neat to help explain/outline concepts and basically get you started with things, but what about the "problematic" bits you run into as you dig further into the features, the "Now what?" spot in the process, if you rather. To name but a couple of examples off the top of my head:
Stylemaker - (how) can I make sure that the pattern I'm going for will differ the way I want it to for major/minor triads chords from the core major 7th template one (a very common trick used by the oldest of them Auto-Accompaniment keyboards, btw) that the Stylemaker so much prefers?
Or, for another feature, the ACW - What are my most feasible options when the source song has key changes (absolutely vital for any self-respecting Eurovision song!), or even significant tempo/Time Sig changes, seriously complex chords etc?
Essentially, the really, really intricate things.

p.s. The above sample questions are (obviously) not to be answered here, btw. They're just some samples of "potentially problematic" scenarios to further support a request.

I like the idea and appreciate the examples Eddie provided.

I've had this thought in the back of my mind for a while, but haven't acted on it. To achieve a key change, would it not be possible to produce two otherwise identical BiaB tracks, lay each into its own timeline, audio track, what have you, then cut and delete as needed? In video, it is done all the time. It would seem like it would work. My question pertains to synchronization.

There are other, better and more intuitive ways to do it. But, answering your question, it can be done like you explain it in your post. Any DAW, including the two you list, Reaper and Audacity will do. It can also be done in RealBand and even within BIAB using audio tracks. Lol, Doing it in BIAB is the least intuitive but the most fun way... wink

It can also be done with my DP-24 so it may also be possible to do with your DP-03. I haven't looked at the editing features of the DP-03 to confirm that.

I also like the concept of 'Under the hood' videos for those really enigmatic issues that we often encounter. Presumably PGM staff know many tricks to achieve some things that are outside the square, so to speak.

Precisely - and thank you for getting this thread back on its intended track! smile

The "Basic" videos should really only address three things:

1. What is it for?
2. Where is it located?
3. How do I operate it?

Whereas the issues of the various ways any said thing in question can then be useful, i.e. deals with the "Why would I want to do this?", is where the "Advanced" videos would come into play!

I'm reminded of a post by PG, which dealt with the concept of Freezing (find it HERE), that would make for a great example of what such an "Advanced" video should deal with.

I don't really get what you mean? Why don't you just do a key change in BIAB and then save each one? Then put each one in Real Band to finish off recording extra's? Burton Trent

Well, I don't have RealBand (as a Mac user), for one thing. And then there's the One Stop Shop concept to consider, in case you were now just going to suggest a different DAW, or something.

In any case, that's sidetracking the original topic as intended. I've repeatedly said don't get hooked on these particular hypothetical case samples, and yet a majority of the replies so far have been doing nothing but precisely that.
