Yep, and a bit toward a melding of Jefferson Airplane and the Dead to our ears.
Airplane in ambiance and the Dead with that bounce in the rhythm.

We really liked the write and particularly:

"I grew old you pretended not to notice taking you down dead end dirt roads please find enclosed it sticks in my throat my request not that I`m owed"

Your vocal delivers the whole feel very effectively and, man, that guitar is wonderful.

You guys have found a great niche on the showcase!

Enjoyed it.

J&B

J&B,
I can hear that Grateful Dead feel now that you mention it.
I tried to give the lyrics a little of the period language- thanks for singling out those lines and Scott`s fine guitar on this.
The Spirit Level plan to keep filling up our little niche!

Janne

Janne,
I figured you`d pick up on the Celtic rock influences ( I never heard much Thin Lizzy for some reason so will check them out). You won`t need to wait long to hear from us again- we have more coming.
Thanks for your listen and comments.

Spirit Level takes interesting turn...
Love it! Very cool progression. Lyrics...Robert did you happen to find 18th century manuscript of a unpublished poet at a yard sale and redacted verses a little? Do not know how you come up with such good lyrics. Scott's playing works beautifully. I like the part where vocals follow his guitar line. Quality stuff! Congrats to both of you!

Really nice sound, guys. A strong vocal, lovely guitar tone and catchy chorus.
(I was quite a fan of the Waterboys, Robert, but haven't heard a lot of Runrig. Will check them out.)

Leon

That`s funny, Misha- just so happens I`ve read quite a bit of Lit. from that period;no yard sales, I shop at the library!
I`m very glad you enjoyed this.

Thanks for the listen, Leon. The Waterboys seem to be quite unknown over here;Mike Scott is one of my favourite vocalists and he wrote some wildly spiritual rock songs too.

The lovely Marshall makes a lovely sound. It does make the song lean a little to the right though as there's nothing as solid and constant as it on the left.
Lovely song...I was expecting it to be folkier from the intro.

Cheers

Robert & Scott,

It's very rare for you to send the Bluesy Shuffle to us.
Very Enjoyable!
And your originality is also packed in this shuffle.
Your vocal and Scott's Guitar are very nice.
I am very happy to hear such music from you sometimes.

Best regards.

Wow brother!
This kind of put in the mind of "House of the Rising Sun" in the beginning.
But then as I got into your lyrics, it felt more like something Ray LaMontagne would have written.
You have a way of painting a picture with your lyrics.
Good, strong vocals also.
Thanks for posting your song.
I enjoyed listening to it.

The lyrics would fit as an Americana acoustic song; I like the blend of acoustic/electric we came up with in the end ( the chopping fiddle & mandola are still there in the background).
There is a bit of a lean on the mix- good ear! Something to bear in mind if we do a retake.

Shigeki,
The blues shuffle is more part of Scott`s comfort zone than mine- one of the nice learning opportunities these collaborations present.
Thank you for your positive comments!

Thanks Bawb- I guess I should blush when admitting I`d never heard of Ray LaMontagne- good singer!
I appreciate your listen and comments.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
