I hope everyone is safe and well. I’ve been quite busy for some time now. I played in a band during tourist season doing corporate and country club gigs. Then it dried up. For some reason that escapes me I continue to keep working when in all reality I should have retired years ago. My wife and I were planning on traveling most of the summer but that has also begun to dry up. So maybe it’s time to write some songs. I will be listening and commenting soon. There are some great things being posted and I’m glad to be back and have some interesting music to listen to that will help get through this trying and very unusual time. All comments are welcome and appreciated as always. https://soundcloud.com/tommyad/where-do-we-gohttp://tommyadamsmusic.com/track/2326236/where-do-we-goRecorded in Logic Pro X Plug Ins : Nectar 2, Neutron 2, Ozone 8, Tonal Balance, Waves LinMB, Waves, L3-LL Multi Limiter, Scuffam Amps S-Gear, Waves Vocal Rider Vocals, Pedal Steel, Acoustic Guitar, Tom Adams RealTracks 2542:Pedal Steel, Background ModernBalladAtmosphere Ev16 065 Real Tracks 542:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Dreamy Ev 085 Held RealTracks 2914:Guitar, Acoustic, Fingerpicking Folky16thsBrent Ev16 085 RealTracks 2780:Guitar, Acoustic, Rhythm Songwriter8thsBrent Ev 085 RealTracks 2541:Pedal Steel, Background ModernPopCountry Ev 110 Royalty Free Loops Where Do We Go Walk outside it’s not the same anymore It’s not a feeling it’s a fact It’s like they dropped me off from outer space And they ain’t never coming back No we never saw it coming how could we ever have known It’s quite clear where we came from But now where do we go All I have are answers To questions never asked Our old way of life is waiting to return With changes maybe we can get it back No we never saw it coming how could we ever have known It’s quite clear where we came from But now where do we go No we never saw it coming how could we ever have known It’s quite clear where we came from But now where do we go ©Thomas Adams 2020

Great to hear a new song from you, Tom!
Man, this is good beyond good ... not going to list all the things I like about this, I’ll just say it’s a song I’ll listen to again and again.
Best song I’ve heard on here for a while actually.
Welcome back!

That first verse is right on.
You really created an amazing with the combination of tracks, with just the right amount of a haunting mood.
Good song---everything about it keeps one's eared "glued" to it as it plays.

Back for another listen. Man, I love that lick you are playing on the pedal steel! Very emotive. And of course the lyrics are right on point. Excellent!

Tom,
A terrific sound. Full, relaxed, ear candy. Tasty things happening all over the place. Nice steel throughout. Love the stereo acoustic sound.
A solid write. Relevant to the current situation, and will still be valid once it's passed.
Excellent mix. (as always).

Tom, One of the best songs I`ve heard inspired by current state of affairs. I really like the progression and sense of mystery created by those pedal steel tracks and the bass also sounds great ( is that you?) Good lyrics, sung with feeling; an excellent way to come back around here!

Wow, there's a lot of magic in there, Tom. Outstanding writing and an inspirational mix. That pedal steel is quite special. Now, excuse me while I go hear more of your stuff. Stay well --keep playing.

This grabs straight from the first bar. The last chords of the intro lead to the touching melancholy mood. The lyrical content describes perfectly the current crisis, the questions it raises and the feelings it leaves in us. The selected instruments create an excellent balance between the melody and lyrics. Great vocals and catchy chorus.
I really like the ending, it reflects the title of the song and it sounds like a musical question mark, leaving the answer open, very bold and clever idea.

Tommy, this is fantastic. Love that steel guitar and the words are very relevant today. Your vocal is very strong also.
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

I always look forward to what you have to say. The bar you set is way up there so any of your thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tom

Firstly, it's wonderful to see you post a new production!
Secondly, what a re-entry tune!
Man, that spooky steel adds so much...the touches that only you could put on your production.
All of the tracks including your fine vocals create an atmosphere that is almost ethereal yet, unfortunately, bounded in today's reality.
And, not surprisingly, the mix sounds terrific. Your knack for putting every track in the perfect place is unparalleled.
And great knack #2 is your ability to say so much without getting wordy or overwrought.
Superb Tom.

As Bud & Janice said superb.
Lovely steel guitar throughout - so atmospheric, wonderful vocal and a thoroughly engaging song from start to finish.
Yep superb!

Hi Tom ...
What at real treat to hear a new one from you. And what a great way to make your comeback! That steel is so eerie but so perfect. The first verse and intro are great ear catchers ... hard not to listen after that!!!
There's a lot of "out of the box" thinking and tinkering with this ... and it all turned out as good as we expect from A Tom Adams song. Those expectations are pretty darned high and you never fail to meet, and usually exceed, what we anticipate when we click onto one of your songs.
Live is a little unusual these days and you've totally captured that aspect. Like it a lot!
Take care and be safe ...
Alan
