I can't understand why I can't enter this chord. In the list of chords recognized (2018) by BIAB the chord G7#9 is there, but when I try to insert it, nothing appears.
Another question: why if I write the chord on a word processor and then copy it I can't paste it into BIAB? Can't do it?

Try G9+ it already contains everything you need, including a seventh interval

I just found out that it's possible to insert it with the Chord Builder. So, can I just put it this way?

Can you enter any chord with a #, like G#? You should be able to use the keystroke combination on your keyboard that you would normally use to enter a #. One exception is that occasionally the desired symbol conflicts with a hotkey in Band-in-a-Box. For example "option+3 is a hot key (mutes bass track), and so on a French keyboard (and some other ones, not sure about Italian) you can just press 3 to enter a #.

Yes, if I write the chord, for example G#9, (then G, then I enter # with the 3 key and after 9) everything works. If I want to write G7#9, here is what comes out: G739. My keyboard is in Italian. But even if I set the keyboard layout in the USA nothing changes.

The problem is inserting the sharps later. The same happens if I try to write C7#9 or A7#9 ! If you try to insert it from the keyboard you can't do it and the number 3 always comes. Has anyone tried ?

I just upgraded to BIAB 2020 so this may not be relevant, but I just tried entering G7#9 from my keyboard and it seems to be okay.
I typed G 7 [shift]3 9 and it accepted the chord

Hi Rocky,
and thanks for your advice.
Unfortunately, my "extended keyboard" is in Italian and the combination of shift + 3 does not work!
If I change the layout from Italian to Usa, it only works if I use the 3 key above / between the W and E keys.
If I use the 3 key, of the numeric keypad (extended keyboard), it does not work even with the US layout.
Thanks for your help !
Renato

I did some Googling, and it appears characters such as the at (@) sign and the hash (#) key are found in the lower right hand corner of the keyboard can be generated easily as follows (AltGr + @) or (AltGr + #).

Hopefully this helps, as I've never used any other keyboard myself besides the standard North American QWERTY one.

Hello Deryk and thank you. I know that combination (Alt + #) but it doesn't work in BIAB. If I use it with Text Edit it works perfectly.
Sorry, but "Gr" after Alt what does it mean?

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
