In this track - What Was The Question? - I used:

some of the midi tracks from 'Answers New Age Smooth Jazz'. (Love the piano!)
Real Track Bass - Acoustic Fusion Slow Neil
Drums are Logic Drummer.
I'm playing a strat through Amplitube.

I am really enjoying fiddling about with BIAB. I am finding it useful for inspiration when my muse goes on holiday....

There's a real lot to like this right from the very first note.

Thoroughly enjoyable.

You definitely nailed 'Smooth'

The guitar work is absolutely perfect.

Excellent, from every angle cool

The reverb and delay on the guitar blur it quite a bit and builds up a lot of bottom end which disguises the kick drum and makes everything else just a little harder to hear properly.
You could solve that by putting a high pass on the guitar or by limiting the range of the reverb (a low pass).
Some lovely playing and melodic passages.

Cheers

Thanks Rayc, I do tend to wind the tone off on my guitar, usually I play with the neck pickup set between 2 and 4. Looking for more of a jazz tone I think. I also tend to wind the treble off on the amp. I rarely use a bright tone but am always open to experimentation.... The guitarists eternal search for 'that tone'!

SmoooOOOoooth. No question about it, Chris. I'm with Rayc on the little more reverb than I'd like, but when that guitar comes in after the piano solo, all is forgiven. hehe.

Enjoy whatever happens!

I took your advice rayc and cleaned up the guitar sound. I also changed the synth pad as the synth background wash was similar to the guitar reverb and adding to the muddiness. I have updated the file and I think it sounds better cleaned up. So thanks again for the tip....

Melodically ethereal -- can't believe I said that smile

But it immediately came to mind.

Excellent playing!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
