I am always careful before downloading these types of sound libraries. Simply because I have historically filled too many hard drives with material I never do anything with. So I have now gone a long spell without any downloads and even moved on in generation of Music machines so the old unused stuff is pretty much gone.

So to make a long story short, I did some research on this offering and concluded it was well worth it to get the free version. Let you know in 14 days.

It absolutely is well worth it. You basically get instruments from their top of the line library without some of the articulations but still quite useful. The difference is where this was recorded and it is the BBC Symphony Orchestra so it is very well done. The pro version gives you something like 20 different microphone placements for every sample and all the articulations you would ever need, but this free version is still very nice.

The quality of sound and range of instruments is nothing short of ASTOUNDING - especially considering that they are offering this for free...

The download process (using their app) is easy and simple and relatively fast.

Anyone who ever considers using orchestral instruments in a production should take advantage of this offer.
You shouldn't ever need much more...

And don't miss this Reaper Template which is available.Every instrument, every articulation laid out.

I think I do. One way is to drag the midi from the inserted track and then drop it on the selected track to play in the SO. In fact you don't even have to load your midi file to a separate track, reaper will support drag and drop from a .mid file.

How do you drag and drop a midi track in Reaper? Glad you asked this question because it is a little know secret. You have to hold the Cntrl-Alt keys while you drag with your mouse. Few people know this little secret.

By the way keep on eye on the Reaper Forum, the SO is likely to get a lot of press.

Good luck.
Dan

I don't know about everyone here, but now that I've settled in to our "new normal" I've taken to rearranging and dusting off many things in order to keep busy and productive!

I'm picking up old hobbies, picking up clutter around the house, and as it turns out - finding forgotten picks!

We snagged these gems many, many, many years ago after The NAMM Show one winter. Check out the old Band-in-a-Box logo! Click here...

Have any of you come across something nostalgic like this these days? Let's see it!
(remember the first Audiophile version?!)
