It would be nice to have more control over when real tracks are generated. When playing with Ideas each time you play it regenerates. So you can use the replay, but when you go to record or render you get new versions. It would be nice to have the ability to freeze a composition at a state so that real tracks remain static until further notice.
This would included rendering to waves or wave midi combination, also should include recording. and would prevent accidentally regenerating things.

If you are using a sequencer you can save the real track as a wav file. This is very easy now, i.e. Thank you Peter for implementing that suggestion!
Many times I will save multiple variations of a real track solo then cut and paste in my sequencer to get what I want.
I do like your suggestion though. Freezing tracks and/or parts of tracks has been suggested many times.
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Yeah I do use PT and I eventually put out wave files and leave them there, however, this a.m. I was working on a song. My keyboard skills are very rusty and so I like to play through the song a bunch of times and develop an idea, then I like to record it. Each time I record it the RT are regenerated. It would be nice to have the ability to keep the current generated real tracks until I say change them. It would also be nice to have a punch in facility in BIAB.

I don't think BIAB should regenerate parts once we decide to Render, either.
Of course, using a hardware synth, I have to record the output as it plays back anyway, I usually just do that to the single Audio track in BB using ASIO drivers and a soundcard that allows for direct input monitoring routed to record input.
But it is very disconcerting to have everything the way you want it when using a DXi synth, only to realize that the RealTracks get regenerated when you go to make a wav file of the thing...

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
