I Didn't Love Her No How

A repost of a song Di and I wrote this back in 2012. It's a Chicago style Blues. Comments and suggestions always appreciated. Thanks in advance. Please be safe.

I never did upload this one to Soundcloud, so this is a low bit-rate MP3, Maybe one day I'll quit being lazy and post it on Soundclick as a wave.

I Didn't Love Her No How

(v1)
I left her standing in a steady rain
A tainted woman crazy and insane
That's the last time I ever saw that gal
I didn't need her, I didn't love her no how

(v2)
No good at cooking, she wouldn't even clean
Not only that, she was down right brutal mean
She'd scare the devil, force him to stoop and bow
Thank God she's gone, I didn't love her no how

CHORUS
Nasty temper, bad attitude
Didn't want her then, don't want her now
She was an evil voodoo vixen
I didn't love her no how

(v3)
I tolerated all her selfish ways
For two long years and twenty-seven days
She was a heartache in a low-cut blouse
Good riddance trouble, I didn't love her no how

(v4)
I got my freedom, got no regrets
Ain't paying nothing but my self-inflicted debts
I hear she's looking, for a new cash cow
But that's her problem, I didn't love her no how

REPEAT CHORUS X2

That's really nice...def. has the elements of Windy City Blues. I can hear it in BB's catalogue.

"For two long years and twenty-seven days" Just great.

The band sounds great. That lead is inspired. Just the right edge to the vocals. Everything sits well with me, including how your narrator is at least trying to master apathy. Twenty-seven years and two days, he'll have it licked.

Hey Tangmo ...

Well, I guess he was counting the days! Glad you liked that line. Really glad you liked it as whole ... but particularly that line! Glad I wasn't married to her!

Best to you. Be safe ...

Sounds great to me, Alan, I love this type of blues.

Good lyrics, well above the norm for a blues write, and your vocal really suits the material too.

Yeah! Enjoyed.

Alan,

A good Blues song. Good tracks. Catchy.

The vocal is a little "too up front" I think (just a bit)... but I understand that this has been "in the can" for a while... well sung...

Listened through a few times (I don't get why Soundclick doesn't include a volume control with their player)

Nice.

my first impression, you didn't really care for her!!! HA, great song Al, love your style and the vocal hits dead on. Was that Biab guitar or you? Great on either one. Cliff

Hi Alan,

A really catchy song with a funny story! And you sang it very well. I liked those endings of each verse and chorus.
Beside that the leadguitar was beautiful!
I wanted to 'like' the song on your SC-page, but that ended in me having an account on it now and you still have no 'like'.
When I tried it again, the whole page was gone. I hope I haven't destroyed it...

Still stay safe Alan! And Di as well,
Hans

Alan & Di,
Nice teamwork! Cool and unusual chorus swing. Composition wise, you rock (or you bluez in this case)!

Would be interesting to hear it in HD. Enjoyed it! Thank you for sharing.

Loved this Alan. Very cool delivery on this tune. I just amazed me how many ways there are to play the blues. Loved the vocal and your guitar work as sooo good. Very cool phrasing and licks. Well done

Al,
A very well crafted lyric ( hard to find original lyrics for the genre- yours had me listening close and smiling!).
Sounds good as is ( especially that guitar lead), but sure, get busy and do a remix- the song is well worth the attention.

Hard to go wrong with J&B when it comes to the blues and this
is a cool one indeed.

And it's always nice to hear an even feel blues.

All good here Al, the vocal, the arrangement, the mix and the excellent
use of that solo RT guitar.

We are happy that you brought this one back!

Thanks a bunch, Floyd. And yeah, I agree ... the vocals needs to fall back a little. Appreciate the listen and nice comments. Best to you. Be safe ...

Now, what gave you that impression. Cliff? Ha! That was a Brent Mason lead solo. I can usually count on him to help me out ... may have to give him a raise!

Many thanks ... all appreciated! Best to you & be safe ...

Hello Hans ...

Glad you liked the song. And yeah ... Soundclick leaves a lot to be desired, in my opinion. I appreciate that you tried to leave a like. And no, no problems with the page/ Again. Many thanks! Best to you. Be safe ...

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
