What a sensational delivery.

Lots and lots to like about this production.

Balance, vocally, lyrically, visually.

This is really, really excellent. Yes, lots and lots to like about this production.

Lots of passion/emotion in this song!! You did a great job with the vocal too!! The mix could be a little cleaner but I love the nostalgic feel of the song! Enjoyed a lot!! Take care. Greg

Howdy Dan....

Admittedly, this is not a genre I listen to or write in but I can still recognize a good song.

This is a good story telling song with well expressed, fleshed out lyrics.
The song is well structured and easily creates the desire to keep listening.
Vox is emotive and the harmonies sound great.
I wish I could hold a note (confidently) like you are able to.
I'd sound like a dull chain saw if I were to try.

Well done....keep up the good work.

(EDIT: I forgot to say the video was very good too)

Thanks so much for the kind and generous comments...glad you enjoyed the song and video...I'm a gospel writer and venture into Americana on occasion...the world needs chain saws...I usually sound like a seal gasping for air so I really appreciate your comment...Thanks again...Dan

Am I hearing a Floyd Jane influence in the vox?

When a song can bridge genres so seamlessly, it is very good. Really enjoyed listening. Kudos.

When I first saw the title, I wondered if it was a parody of "Moon River".

Obviously not! laugh

Easygoing and wistful. Laid back arrangement, nice vocals and harmonies.

Floods my mind

I see what you did there! wink

A very pleasant listen!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Dan,
Your reminiscing works for me; a nice lilt to the melody, gentle backing that suits the feel and an excellent vocal.
Very well done for a first Biab production!

WOW this is simply fantastic. Super vocal with great sounding harmonies! A fantastic backing track with everything mixed to perfection.

There is a lot to like about this one! Great work here.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

David...thanks for the comments...it actually started out "Blue River" then I thought "I live 10 miles from Spoon River" why write fiction when you can write your own account of a real river... so there you go...thanks for listening and commenting...Dan

Not very often I comment on songs but this song is something else. I reckon this would be the nicest song I’ve heard in a very long time. Just brilliant all the way. Spot on singing and harmonies with really nice backing. Very pleasant!!

Thanks for the listen.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
