Hi, I'm an IT guy, new to BIAB. Sometimes, when I open the style picker, or other pop-out windows from the BIAB software, the window doesn't pop "in front" of the main BIAB window. At that point, I am unable to retrieve it. I can't minimize BIAB to get to the popped out window. Windows Key+D does not minimize everything to the desktop as it should. Basically, BIAB has got ahold of the desktop. I can't even ctrl-alt-del to kill it since the task manager window opens behind BIAB. Literally the only thing I can do is log off or shut down the computer, losing any saved work I have.
I've been trying to remember to make BIAB not maximized on the desktop before I do anything which opens a pop out window. This way I can move it around and find the window that has popped out behind, as a way to avoid this problem, but this is obviously not ideal and sometimes I forget. Then I lose any unsaved work and it's super frustrating.
Any workarounds or comments? This seems like a pretty blatant bug, hoping there is a fix.
It looks like yours, does that mean DAW mode is on or off? I can't send a screenshot currently since snipping tool is also hiding behind the BIAB window when I open it.

You probably need to select either of the two left hand buttons. Try that and let us know:
BIAB & RB2024 Win.(Audiophile), Sonar Platinum, Cakewalk by Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M Monitors, Pioneer Active Monitors, AKG K271 Studio H'phones
Well, can't select either right now, since there is a save-as window hiding behind the main program and clicking anything in BIAB just gives me the unhappy Windows noise. The only reason I can even post this post is my browser happens to be on my second monitor.
It appears to me that the middle one is selected already, in between the minimal button and the DAW button.
Also, if there's a modal window in the background, try <Alt><Tab> to see if you can bring it to the foreground, even pressing <Escape> or <Enter> may acknowledge it. Failing that, shut down using the Task Manager and start again to free up something stuck behind the main form.

Ok, I had to log out of the computer to kill BIAB. I've re-launched now and clicked both the two left options, I see that they make the window show different menu styles. I'll see if the problem continues and report back. Thanks.

Yeah, alt-tab shows that there is a window, but it would not bring it to the front to be clickable.
Ctrl-alt-delete no good, task manager also opened behind BIAB. Logging out/shutting down from the start button was the only thing that worked.
Anyway, as noted above I will see if the normal or minimized screen modes resolve the issue. Thanks again.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
