Guitar and Orchestra

Just me having some fun with our favorite program!

BiaB style = Slow Pop Orchestral

I deleted the drum track.
The following tracks are using Kirt Hunter's Studio
1-Bass - Virtuoso basses
2-Cellos - Virtuoso Cellos - I duplicate the bass track and raised it one octave
3-Guitar - Virtuoso Strings
4-strings - Virtuoso Serenity Legato

Piano - Amadeus Orchestra - Harp

All tracks were slightly altered to better fit the song. All but the bass and cello tracks have a touch of Raum reverb.

I am playing my Harley Benton guitar straight into my mixing board with effects Blue Cat's Re-Guitar set to Jazz Wide and with TR5 Tape Echo.

The master track effects are Aphex Vintage Exciter - preset - Project Legato.

All comments good or not so good are welcomed.

I am at work right now and speaking frankly registered on the forum just because got bored, but I put it on repeat! Great relaxing composition. Thank you! Also, sorry for off-topic, did not think that's important enough to post a new thread. I am about to buy an electric violin for my daughter. Is here a professional who could recommend one (from these, I guess)

Mario, interesting!

Way outside the square, invigorating, unusual and enticing.

You bent the rules, very successfully.

Sounds good to me, Mario! Nice new age type piece.

I'm having no problems hearing the changes here.

Nice tone on the guitar!

Hi Mario,

I read the comment about your chordprogressions, well I can hear your progressions. I find your melody very nice and I liked the dramatic move in it towards the end. But if you could distinguish your instruments a bit more that would work out better. I don't mean just adding more volume, but panning the instruments (wider)and add volume to some of them. Makes the mix brighter.

But Mario, who cares? You had your fun making this song and we by listening to it!

Stay safe,
Hans

Mario,

You are the New-Age King of the forum.

I like the "density" of the background. I did think the guitar could have been just VERY slightly louder - which seemed to happen around the 2:10 mark...then it seemed to drop a bit again. (It might be just an EQ thing - a little more high end might be the ticket. Guessing, here)

A beautiful piece. I enjoyed the listen.

This is cool...reminds me of a lull section in a hooror movie where things are then suddenly interrupted by a gore fest. Lovely playing Mario. Angels sing.

Mario,
Mysterious and fun. Could be very well used as a background for a modern day narration of Thousand and One Nights. Nice guitar playing and FX!
Enjoyed it! Thank you for sharing.

A very interesting relaxing, yet cerebral ride. I like the way it rocks back and forth between major and minor tonalities, sometimes from the same same root chord. At least that's the way I'm parsing it as a beginner. And lands on an "up" feel. I wasn't all that crazy about the cello in my right ear on the phones. Probably not an issue on monitors/speakers. It might have been better had the strings taken the full spread and the cello shared closer to the middle...but maybe the very oddness of the piece begged for such a placement. I very much enjoyed the time listening.

Nice work Mario. You have a distinctive style all of your own.
That TR5 tape echo on your guitar gives an ethereal sound to the piece.
This music would be perfect for a dream sequence in a movie.

Hi MarioD,

This is a very melodramatic sounding piece.
You've done a really good job on it.
I'm not by any stretch of the imagination a movie director, but I can actually hear this as the intro or ending of a sad movie...

Or it could be played as an emphasis on a sad scene.

It's kind of sad, yet soothing. Thanks for posting.

Thanx for listening and those very kind comments.

Sorry but I don't know a violin player. You should start a new thread on the Woodshedding - Learning to Play forum.

With BiaB it is quite easy to think out of the box and to bend the rules. PGMusic should get most of the credit in that department.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
