Originslly, it came on a memory stick for PRO,
Now I upgraded to Ultra.
130GB
That is a HUGE download!
Where does everyone keep this sort of stuff?
Another memory stick? An external harddrive?

I use an external hard drive.
BIAB Ultra Pak+ 2024:RB 2024, Latest builds: Dell Optiplex 7040 Desktop; Windows-10-64 bit, Intel Core i7-6700 3.4GHz CPU and 16 GB Ram Memory.

I backup everything to multiple external drives which I rotate in turn, and store them off site. That way, my recovery (if I ever need it) is very straightforward. Bottom line: No matter how you backup, please don't put all your eggs in one basket...

Multiple thumb drives and External Hard drives. I kept all my mechanical drives when I upgraded to SSD's and I use those reformatted drives to save every one of my BIAB files. I also copied the full installed directory to those mechanical drives. That way if I loose the desktop drive, I can just copy the entire directory back over and it saves hours of reinstalling from scratch since I go all the way back to 2016 for the initial install. Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

I am not quite sure what you all mean:
Do yo make backups of the install and stsore that on the external drive?
Or do you install BIAB on an external drive altogether?
Or do you store the downloads on an external drive but do the installtion on the internal drive?

Keep in mind, the installers are always available in your PGMusic account
Whether you want to keep a backup is up to you .. I do. On a separate drive.
I install the programs to C:
The question is where to install the RTs and RDs.
I usually do this on a drive other than C: due to size and drive availability.
On this system I use a different internal drive, but I have also used an external USB drive just fine for these.
In your case I'd install program to C:, and install RT/RD files to an external drive most likely.
Your environment will dictate a lot of this.
If you have storage room to backup the installers, go ahead. Use storage not on C: drive if possible. But again, they are in your account and available.

I have a 2TB drive that stores every version of BIAB since version 8 (not 2008), including every patch update file.
I can install/re-install any version release as I please.

I have most of my installers. I review a few times a year and delete the earlier builds except the last two. I delete the installers for the full BIAB and RealBand except for the past two years. One thing I do not delete, no matter the age, is bonus PAKs.
The sum total isn’t so large to worry about.

Yes. My backup machine runs BIAB from the supplied external USB drive. It works fine.
My production machine runs BIAB from an internal SSD and the RealTracks are on a dedicated internal 10,000 rpm hard drive. The OS is on another SSD. BIAB flies.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
