Thanks for the advice and suggestions folks. Many were, finally, incorporated in the mix and those that weren't were certainly test run.

There's a Cinema reference in the video that may appeal to folk who've seen the 1980 Rock Flick Get Crazy
LYRICS
Instead of Fireworks (Huxley's Exit)
Pygmy Beat Extended

Just a spoon full of honey makes the acid less sour
He’d lose the ego the light in his soul would devour
He felt the beginning as karma took power.

The Eclipsed Celebrity Death Club Czar
Wondered if he’d left the doors ajar
Wrote “…one hundred micrograms intra muscular”

Swami complained he’d broken the doors of perception
He looked outward focusing on introspection
Alice’s script was another Disney deception

The Eclipsed Celebrity Death Club Czar
Hadn’t noted the date on his calendar
Wrote “…one hundred micrograms intra muscular”

He insisted the point was counter point
And he ignored young Bess’s offer to anoint
He knew from the first this brave new world would disappoint

The Eclipsed Celebrity Death Club Czar
Wondered if he’d left the doors ajar
Wrote “…one hundred micrograms intra muscular”

Well, rayc, the first movie that came to mind was The Sound OF Music with your opening lyric. Yes, thanks for the lyrics, too. It otherwise would have been one of those songs where you have to keep lifting the arm to go back over it. "What is he saying?" The whole production was quite captivating and well done.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Yeah, that was a giggle reference...I'd actually forgotten about it as this song's been going for almost two months.
The Get Crazy reference relates to a conversation between Max Wolf of the Saturn Theatre and Auden.

Hi Ray,

Somehow I think I heard this song before on this forum. Is this possible?
At least your style of the song and the singing makes it feels similair.
And I liked that song, so this one as well. Otherwise it would be inconsistent and that is not what I want to be while judging your songs ;-)
I liked that intriguing video very much. Saw a lot of newspaper clippings passing by in that surreal video. Combined with your way of singing (a little drawl) gives the song a tensed sphere. That I liked the most!

Nice day,
Hans

That is superbly cool!

Man, do you ever have a signature sound with that distorted rhythm. Yeah, we've said it before but
they are our reference for that sound.

Eric's solos are are perfecto as is the vocal. EVERYTHING has it's own space in the mix
but also working well with the overall vibe. Nice.

Great vid to deliver it all with.

Enjoyed the watches!

Ray and Eric, I enjoyed the writing, playing, and singing on this one. The mix sounds good with just the correct amount of separation on the guitars. Just trippy enough without getting too over the top. I liked it a lot, Tom

yes Hans, the working version, the mastered version and now the video...I'm trying some subliminal messaging - seems to be working on you!
"..a little drawl..." is the kindest thing said of my singing to date.
Thanks.

Thanks J&B,
positivity beams from you two.
Eric wasn't pleased with his recorded solos but, by the mastering stage, he'd decided they weren't half bad after all.

Thanks Tommy,
Originally the main guitars were hard panned but the M.E. recommended I pull them in before he did his thing.
He was right as you've just proven.

Hi Ray ...

Yep ... got the 1980s under control. The guitars are mutually complimentary and really fill it out. It's full without being "overloaded" ... not always easy to do. A really cool sound and production. Nice!

Best to you & yours. Be safe ...

Alan

Good work, especially enjoyed the lyrics (as always) and the live sound you get. Everything came together very well, your usual excellence.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
