There is an island that is surrounded by mist that appears and disappears at random times. No one knows why or what is on this island. Some fishermen claim that if the island appears and they are near it they hear voices calling "falling in darkness" . No one knows what is on this island because all who
have gone there have disappeared. Do you dare to go to Mysterious Island

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Very cool. This is cinamatic. Background in a mysterious movie scene. Eerie in a few places.

I believe I was on this island in the 3rd verse of Under the Black.

That's good stuff you have there

Love this one Mario, even though it's spooky, ominous and downright scary. eek
The voices, the flute, the echoes, the strings - all create a very atmospheric piece of music.
I think writing a free, unorthodox, non-rhythmical work is harder than writing a commercial song, complete with structure, norms and repetition.
This is a brave and successful addition to the PG Showcase.
Hats off to you Mario.

Mario,

VERY cool.

You should have these sitting a library (music) so that film makers could be picking them up to use in their projects.

Excellent.

Very nice, Mario! It reminds me of the tv show "Lost" and I also feel a little bit that I have been on that kind of island for the last 4 months because of the lockdown. smile

I enjoyed listening and I liked the creepy feeling I got from listening!

Thanks for sharing,
Will

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Man, you tell a good story, Mario. I actually hesitated before pushing the link. I knew you would reward the risk, and I was right. This is yet another avenue you have taken us into, and you are the perfect guide. You are really really good at writing with a feel, and have a wonderful way of sharing it. Thanks for another enjoyable ride.

Enjoy whatever happens!

There's a game I played where a city only appeared for a few seconds at dawn, then it disappeared for the rest of the day. If you got in at dawn, you could spend all the time you wanted. Your piece would have been perfect ambient music for that place. Very good work! Good piece to mellow out with, too.

Yessir, cinematic indeed. Very well put together, love the flute.
I've heard of this island although have not seen any testimonials.

Mario,

Your written introduction to the song made me want to give it a listen, but once I started I couldn’t stop. The song is as mysterious as it’s namesake. Ominous and foreboding . . . as others note very cinematic, very visual. Really interesting piece.

My best to you,

Deej

I am amazed by your ability in creating your instrumentals. The fairytale flute floats nicely in and above the wall of sound. The composition as a whole fits the island story quite aptly.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
