hello, having received a few months ago the email proposing the 2020 update with the "all Xtra pack 9", I placed the order by internet and also requested an upgrade from the pro version to the ultra-pack, I was able to download the files and proceed to the installation of BIAB and the "all Xtra pack 9" ...
a few days ago, having learned that there was an update, I wanted to install it and I could not do it with the software, so I downloaded the update from the us site and again i got a message saying i couldn't install this update. I was a little upset thinking I had everything I needed, thinking about it I said to myself that maybe it is because I had made an upgrade thinking I had bought the 2020 version and the upgrade that there was a bug. at the time of installation I did not verify that it was the new 2020 version too happy to have switched to the much better supplied ultrapack version.
it is the fact of having been able to benefit from the promo with the xtrapack that misled me ...
I don't know what to do now because I would still like to be able to use the 2020 version.
thanks for giving me the procedure to sort this out.
Phil

Hello Phil,

Just make sure you are selecting the correct volume - the disk that you have Band-in-a-Box 2020 on. On that disk make sure you have "\Applications\Band-in-a-Box\Band-in-a-Box.app". You should have Band-in-a-Box 2020, and you could verify by running the Application and checking the About Band-in-a-Box dialog, or by selecting the app in Finder and pressing Command+I.

hello Andrew,
Now I know that I own the 2019 version, it was a mistake when I decided to upgrade and update at the same time...
Today, I sent a mail to the PG team to see if it's possible to get a commercial arrangement...
thank you

As far as I can tell, you purchased the Band-in-a-Box 2020 UltraPAK upgrade and later the Xtra Styles PAK 9. So you should have the 2020 version. Perhaps you never downloaded the 2020 version? Log into your online store account at www.pgmusic.com and check on your "My Products" page.

Well, at minimum you would install the package in your screenshot, and that would give you version 2020. However you did get the UltraPAK which includes all the RealTracks Sets and these are also available on your download page. You can download as much as you want whenever you want. The 100GB in your screenshot is the amount of free disk space you have on your internal hard drive, and has nothing to do with the total size of the UltraPAK. In fact, the UltraPAK size is over 100 GB. Do you have an external hard drive you can use? If so, you could install Band-in-a-Box on the external drive.

I think I have already installed the ultrapack and other goodies, my BIAB folder weighs more than 180 GB I just need to install the 2020 version of BIAB, right?
will I have 2 versions of BIAB, or the install will automatically remove the old version ?
thanks

My advise (from own experience of trying to be lazy) is - install the 2020 version from scratch including all the PACK ect - you won't regret the time you spend extra on that task.

MacMini M1 - BIAB2021 - Logic Pro X - iZotope Music Production Suite - Scaler 2 - far too many Waves plugins and Line 6 Guitars and boards + a fantastic Yamaha THR10ll mini Amp - Avid MBOX Studio

Oh - yes if your Band-in-a-Box folder is that large, then that sounds right. After you run the Band-in-a-Box 2020 installer package, you can run the program and visit the RealTracks Picker. Sort by set number and you should see RealTracks in set 352. If not then make note of the highest set number you see there, and download any remaining ones.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
