A great song ... lyric, band, arrangement, and vocal. No way to go wrong with that! Would love to hear more original music from you.

Wishing you the very best. Be safe ...

Alan,

I lived and worked in that Houma/Thibodaux/Morgan City area for almost 20 years. Which is why several of my songs are about the people and the places of the Bayou State.

I'm glad you enjoyed the song. And thank you for sharing the memory of your dear friend.

Take care.

Great, impressed by the simplicity of the band, and the quality of the production.

Excellent choice of instrumentation.

Classic, classy and very sweet. Perfectly pared down band and a comfortable chorus and vocal make this such an easy sing-along...and that's just what I did on the second listen.

The Cajun side of my family was very much part of my upbringing (as much as a military brat can be upbrought by extended family). Those ties remain.

I like this a whole heckofa bunch.

A strong uplifting story sung with feeling.... and that sweet Cajun fiddle sounds great.

Thanks. I was trying to keep it simple, organic, maybe. BIAB gives us so many creative options, it's easy to over do it. I have to be careful about that.

Oh my gosh, what a lovely review.

One never knows how or if a listener will relate to a song. I very much appreciate you letting me know.

Be well.

olemon,

A darn shame you are good for about one a year . . . this was a fun listen—sweet country-folk waltz, one you can’t help but want to dance to. Well written, well sung and really well performed. Enjoyed this a whole ton!!!

My best regards,

Deej

Sounds like a classic folk song that has been sung for 100 years.

Good vocal. Good production. Good mix.

Well done

Glad you liked it, Robert. I have an affinity for certain RT's and those country fiddles are most definitely in the top 10.

I'm so glad you mentioned dancing. I'm really hoping that happens if they ever hold that anniversary celebration. Thanks for the kind feedback.

I'm glad you liked it. I feared the music and structure were too basic. Verse/Chorus three times, no bridge, etc. And so I was hoping the fiddle would generate some interest. Thanks for the spin and the kind review.

Well, stuff just gets in the way. But it turns out I'm on the verge of posting a new old one.

Great song and I loved this. I really like the nuances that you put into the vocals, which take it up a level. When you extend some of those notes selectively, it adds an extra bit of feeling. Everything works well here and nothing detracts.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
