Well, last night I had a terrible dream, and when I woke up David Bowie was in my room, wearing a gold sequined cape-like outfit and a space helmet. He said I had abandoned rock and roll, and would be visited by three spirits: Ziggy Stardust, The Thin White Duke, and Major Tom. I hear a bit of U2 and the Boss somewhere in the mix too.
An energetic and driving song with a serious theme and thought provoking lyrics.
I listened a couple of times and now it's playing in my head.

Hi David,
Definitely a Bowie song! I like the way you sing in this song, accompanied by those drums.
I was only wondering how it must look like, turning in a deeper shade of gray. I know that other story of course, but this is different, I think.
But the song is very cool and performed with lots of power. Very nice!

Hey David. I really like this song, and the Bowie vibe is very clear. That said, I think what you share with Bowie on this song is something even deeper, and that is the sound of *commitment*.

Not ever really having listened to a lot of Bowie, to me, this sounds like DAVID SNYDER!! I love your creativity, son! MAN! What a strong, pumping BASS LINE!! And a vocal to match. This ROCKS. My wife just walked by and said... "He's got a lot of people inside him, doesn't he."  Not sure I could put it any better.... fj

It is true that most of the time life feels like a deeper shade of gray. Great lyrical landscape. The verse melody reminds me bit of Alright by Supergrass, and some U2 in the chorus, but otherwise I can feel all the spirits of David Bowie present, especially in the bridge I hope he visits me too if he can inspire this kind of a catchy sing-a-long stadium rocker. As Supergrass were want to say: "Alright".
They were the Brit Pop version of Slade.
The Bowieness seems to come from the treated steel harking to Robert Fripp's work on Heroes.
A deeper shade of a shade/tone.

Janice's comment was that she could see Bowie doing his unique dance.
That and a few bars in confirms the Bowie vibe is nailed.
This is a fine showcase for RT/RD's as the bass and drums sound huge...in the good way.
Your performances along with the write and excellent mix make for stadium filling
type production.
We thought about quoting a favorite passage but decided we simply liked it all. It's a thought
provoking lyric and creatively written.

Yep ... strong Bowie influence but no question a David Snyder creation. Interesting you are so eclectic, yet there's no question when it's one of your songs. Not a lot of folks can pull that off ... you do it with an uncanny ability.
