Dave: ++BGV's, really great. Your guitar solo's/inserts real tasteful and complimentary to the overall feel. I especially liked how the male voices became more prominent toward the end--gave it a "feels the same for us guys, too" sense.
Mid-way, this song made me chuckle--it probably wasn't meant to be taken this way, but I couldn't help thinking of all the times during marriage when it seems like every little "great idea" turns out to be--well, you just have to keep trying!
Thanks for this excellent track!
Thanks very much, tano! We had lots of fun doing the BGV's on this, I think you will hear that treatment again when the song is right for it.
BIG production sound with the lead & harmony vocals making an huge impact. Everyone's parts are what the song needed. That bass...an even steady sound right up the fretboard. What sort of bass & treatment? Loved the entire package.
No complaints about the kick drum? That has to be a first
Marty answered your question about his gear. For the processing I've experimented with a few different things since Marty came on board.
I've settled on using CLA bass, I think I took one of their existing presets and tweaked it slightly, and I feed the output of that to Neutron 3 for some additional polish and glue.
Hi Chris, Dave and Marty Another excellent song; great work by the three of you. Love the backing vocals. My one tiny quibble is that the call and response at the end between Chris and Dave's guitar didn't go on for just a little bit longer. Regards, Leon
Big and bold .. and fantastic! Each of you shine on your respective parts. And man those BG harmonies!!! This is excellence on parade ... what a great song and presentation! So cool!!!
Best to all of you. Be safe ..
Alan
Thanks, Alan! We had a blast with this one doing the BGV's, lot's of fun
This is good. I love the instrumentation (live and BnB). Soaring ballad. Vocals deliver the message superbly. My favorite kind of song. Nice work to all (and the Band).
What a nice song. A bit a soft Blues, but I like the flow of this song. The vocals were (as always) very good. Especially in the chorusses where that 'trying' gets more and more intense and with more vocals. Man, I love that!
To my ears the lead guitar was a bit modest (soft) in volume. After that cried-out chorus I would have turned up that volume! But I fear your will answer that is why you always ask me to turn my lead guitars down a bit...
This really pushed the air around nicely. I picked up some small flat response monitors recently, and I must say this mix of yours sounds the best on these of anything on the showcase I've heard so far. Lushness. Loved the band, voices (lead, harmony and unison) and the solo play. In that "solo play" I'd also include Marty. Even though he didn't tale a "solo", those lines and rhythm were an entertainment to themselves. Altogether lovely, and all, together, lovely.
Thanks, Tangmo!

Yeah, it was fun, and we will do it again after getting a taste of how it sounds.
We have decided to do a performance video for this one, first ever, so might take a couple of weeks.
Awesome song . Vocals were very cool. Loved how the song built into such an epic tune. Guitar was awesome . Loved Marty’s basslines. And the background vocals. Well done
Thanks, Scott!

Loved the vocals - great arrangement, and the guitars and bass were just right.
A wonderful ensemble piece beautifully played.

Appreciate that, thanks, Peter!

So much great material wrapped up in this production.
Team, I do not know if it can get "better". You set this bar pretty high. It would be a shame to try to pull something out and try to comment on individual items. Usually hits are accepted as a whole. In my view, it is one. The only thing besides congratulations, I will mention is, BGV was a great idea. Thank you for sharing!
P.S. Listened outdoors on the phone through wireless over ear headphones and at home on K702 AKG headset. Sounds great on both!
Misha.
We will do the big BGV thing again in the future, it was lots of fun.
We are all lucky that you have decided to share your tracks with us! Outstanding quality!
Will
Thanks for the listen and kind words, Will, we appreciate it!

There's but two of us but we have three hats to tip and the first goes to Chris for what we consider to be one of her best lyrics along with the fine vocal and piano.
The next two (all are equal tips ) go to those guys who played the stunningly good instrumental performances! And what a surprise with the BGV's - a great idea and well done.
Nobody dislikes cliches more than us but what the heck ... this is stadium epic.

The initial plan was to have an extended call and response between the vocal and guitar, but by that point the song was getting pretty long.
Thanks, Leon!
