I finally got a singer to sing my Song Tears .Last year I posted the demo with my falsetto but this is the real thing.I hope you guys dont get too sad!!
The lyrics come from a the book of Psalms 56:8,the verses from a sermon by a friend and the breakdown from a local headstone with a Spurgeon poem.Hope you enjoy .

Open up the book of Tears,
Open up the book of Tears,
Read the chapters thats within,
All the Tears that Ive forgotten remember them again.
Open up the book of Tears,
Open up the book of Tears
You've counted and you've stored everyone of them

My Tears are caused by being a fool,
And some are caused by circumstance beyond control.

All the Tears that Ive forgotten remember them again.
Some Tears are caused by this fallen world
And some Tears cry deep within my soul
Lord I'm cryin ,Yes I'm Cryin to you
Tears......
Let no man think he can change too soon,
I found it midnight I thought it was noon

Nicely done!! The singer is perfect for the song!! The spaghetti western guitar is an unusual choice but works OK. Enjoyed this!! Take care. Greg

Thanks Greg ,The singer was pretty amazing to work with and the key for me was that she spent time learning the song before reording .The western guitar was the only thing i had that sounded good enough and somehow blended in.Glad you liked it H

I first listened to this yesterday, when I was kind of distracted, but immediately realized that I needed to re-start my listen when I could really focus...it's like a tapestry...lots of sound elements, and since the vocal isn't sung "straight" but with many embellishments, that's also part of the artistic weaving in this piece. There's an elegant complexity in this that I really admire. Great work!

Hugh,
The newer version has a better fit between the very good vocals and backing...and is certainly catchier, although that comes at slight cost to lyric clarity in places( the vocalist is talented and has a free way with embellishing the melody).
I enjoyed your psalm in a pop style!

Thanks Robert,
the thought process on changing structure happened when I heard the vocalist as she brought a campfire feel to it in my ears and i doubled up on the chorus to accomodate .She was very talented I have to say ,thanks for the listen and tips Hugh
