Hi Bob, could you send us a screenshot of the error? You can attach it to the forum post if you go to the Full Reply Screen and use the File Manager.
To take a screenshot in Windows, you can press the Printscreen button then paste the screenshot into an email. Alternately, you can hold the Windows key and press Printscreen, which will save the screenshot as an image in your Pictures\Screenshots folder, or press Alt-Windows-Printscreen which will capture only the current window to Videos\Captures.
From your account, you should have RealBand 2020, is that what you're running here? Can you confirm that you're on the most up-to-date build for 2020 (build 5) by installing the update from here: https://www.pgmusic.com/support.realband.htm#2020_5
I didn't see you respond to see if you checked Rharv's post and looked at the actual log files to see if there was additional info besides the "3.1.11" text.
here it is - all it seems to do is note that RB is starting up
i ran RB twice as the first time i go the no midi chords message but then realised RB always wakes up blank anyway but the midi message was a file i opened earlier. RB seems to announce its starting!
- 3.1.11 [RealBand 2020.5.0, 15/10/2020 21:28:16] **** New Session started at : 15/10/2020 21:28:16 [RealBand 2020.5.0] - Running Windows Notepad.exe to display file C:\RealBand\data\FlashMessageLog.txt [RealBand 2020.5.0, 15/10/2020 21:27:23] - 3.1.11 [RealBand 2020.5.0, 15/10/2020 21:27:05] **** New Session started at : 15/10/2020 21:27:05 [RealBand 2020.5.0] - 3.1.11 [RealBand 2020.5.0, 15/10/2020 17:07:30] - MIDI file contained no chord symbols.
Yes, please see if there's more info in the log. As far as I could find, the number seems to refer to Elastique, but we've never seen it pop up every time like this. Perhaps a reset to default settings could get it to go away?
i'll be upgrading to 2021 anyway soon so that may make it disappear. its not a problem as i said i was just curious.
the flash log was complete for the day in question and as it referred to the 3.1.11 and little else i think that's the end of the usefulness of the logs.
thanks to everyone - especially Simon - for the interest
Not sure if this log is still valid in newer versions of Realband but you could check C:\Realband\RBERROR.LOG. The error may be listed in there.
Doesn't sound like it's actually an error, Steve.
At least he knows the version of that yellow box is 3.1.11!!
I smashed the hell out of my car today. When the cops came I told him "Officer, that guy was BOTH texting and drinking a beer." The cop said "Sir, he has every right to do that. I mean, it's HIS living room..."
