Hi All,
I have done a couple of things to my PC lately - not band in a box related. I swapped my C system hard drive for a bigger one (I keep BIAB on a seperate E drive), after this all was stil working. Today I downloaded some vidoe codecs. After this, I notices that BIAB is no longer associated with SGU files.
So, in order to fix this, I reinstalled my BIAB (on the same E drive), this has now de-registered itself. When I run it, it says "Some features are disabled. Menu-Help-Activation to Activate Program is not activated. Reason is: Yopu can only use this copy of the program on one computer. If you want to use this program on a new computer, choose Menue HelpActivation or Menu- Help- Restore. "
I only use it on this computer. It refuses to reactivate
Neither of these choices exist on the help menu. Under Help Utilities there are other options. Activate Band in BBox does not work. All five of these options either do not work or are too scary. (example: Release licence: brings up a message saying it can no longer be used on this machine. 4 options are only to be used by PG staff
The program also stil does not associate SGU files
I am completely stumped by all this. Everything worked this morning, now nothing works

UPdate: This is like chasing down a rabbit hole. It makes NO sense. I decided to at least update my non working BIAB to latest version (of 2019). After this, with NO restart of PC, it started functioning as if it were registered - just as it should. I STILL have the issue of SGU files not being associated though.
This is the most bizarre program I have ever owned.

To associate the file types with BIAB, I use (on the very top menu) "File | File Utilities | Associate file types with Windows".
Try this, it should help.

No matter which drive you put BIAB, some small files including the activation info are on drive C: And when you install a new version, it works and gives you some time to activate (I think it’s 30 days), so check that you are activated. I think Help, About may show that. If you are not and cannot activate, call PG Music and explain about changing drives.

There definitely is a license validation file that is installed on C drive.
Contacting PG Music Support is your best option. I have no doubt that they will assist and support you to resolve.

Try this, it should help. Thank you but no luck here although it says it has, it doesn't Z AGGHH!

It also "says" my files are associated and they are not. I will get through to PG thank you Matt.

With a lot of utter weirdness PG got this working for me (at 7.30am in the morning their time) . I had to delete some "TICKET" Files - run BIAB as adminstrator, deassociate the files using file/file utilities/ remove file associations. Close BIAB, open it again, reassociate using the same File/file utilities.
First attempt this did not work. Second attempt BIAB presented an option on load up to associate, I used this. After this the files would open correctly, but the icon's were still incorrect - windows generic. After three minutes these changed to PG icons I have no idea how or why as I did nothing.
As far as I can tell I am registered. At least this is what the program is stating.

That sounds right, except for the three minute delay; I have no explanation for that.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
