I Wrote this tune in February when my mother passed away. This is a remake of it using Vocal Mms in Band in a Box.
It is very simple just me singing vocals and playing the banjo part with Gospel lows Mms real track from Real Track 328.
Key E 71 BPMs This was done in just a few minutes and is the first and only take of the remake.
Enjoy ,

Here are the Lyrics:

Here we weep.....as a million tear drops fall..
For you have departed....to the angels call...
You have no pain....and your sorrow is gone..
Our Father in heaven....has finally taken you home..

We will never stop loving you...we hold you in our hearts
And keep you in our hearts....and memories of our times
And in our dreams....is where we will wait
For the glorious day....we meet you at heaven's gate

Though death has pulled...pulled us apart
Time will heal......the aching of our hearts
Where you are .....is where we will be
Always know we love you ....for eternity

Here we weep......as a million tear drops fall
As you have departed.... to the angels call
You have no pain....your sorrow is gone
The Father in heaven...has finally taken you home

Cool tune. Loved the held back vocals. Gives the song a very cool feel. Well done

Good track, simple but effective, BGV created a drone effect. Nice work.

Simple is best with a tribute so close to deep feelings.
I can hear most of the lyrics but it would be good to post them.
The banjo and deep mms fit really well.

Hi Dan ...

So sorry to hear about your mother. You did a really nice tribute to her with this song. The simplicity is as it should be. The love and sentiment comes through clearly. Very nice, indeed.

Wishing you the very best. be safe ...

Alan

Here are the lyrics as I recorded the song although they are not as I wrote them..I wanted to play the song at mom's services and I sang the lyrics wrong. I ended up not using the song at the service..I just didn't have it in me..

Dan.
It takes me to a room in a house where family are gathered in song.
Very moving.

Realer than dirt. Styling that predates technology, still moved along with it. Really nice.

I like the idea of the bvox but they massage some of the authenticity away from the singing & playing.
Your parts are excellent.

Cheers

Hi Dan,

In times of sorrow a song like yours works out very well. No other instruments than one banjo. A leadvocal and a bg- choir humming with dark voices. No effects like reverb or whatsoevere. That is very nice to bring you in the mood this song was meant for. In a way it gave me goosebumps. So, a good song!
