Hello forum friends. Just listened to a lot of great tracks!! Will continue to catch up in the next week or so. Al David puts together a lot of beautiful instrumentals....just has a knack! Also has a knack for interesting titles. I have used several of his instrumentals as a jumping off point for a vocal tune. This is another one. Will post the lyrics soon. As always, love to hear what you think! Take care all. Greg

An instant classic. So lovely in so many ways. It's a song that Sinatra or Santana could cut comfortably. Great use of the band. Sweet vocals and outstanding lyrics. Bravo!

Greg,

The beautiful melody reminiscent of 10cc's "I'm not in Love" is excellent.
The interaction of acoustic guitar, electric guitar and vocals is wonderful.
And as usual, the sweet vocals are so nice.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Hi Greg ...

As always, you take my instrumentals to the next higher level with your fantastic lyrics and your silky, golden voice. You have a lot of magic in those pipes!!!

Simply gorgeous, my friend. Every time I get a message from you asking to put a lyric and vocal to one of my works, a smile grows on my face from ear to ear! You are a song's best friend!

Here's a list of the particulars I used for the music portion:

RealTracks in style: 533:Bass, Electric, 12-8 Crystal Sw 065
RealTracks in style: 2714:Guitar, Nylon, Background SlowSwingBrent Sw 065
RealTracks in style: ~~530:Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Hank Sw 085
RealTracks in style: ~~527:Guitar, Acoustic, Fingerpicking Hank Sw 085
RealDrums in style: CountryShuffle128^3-a:Sidestick, Brushes , b:Sidestick, HiHat

Greg added the electric guitar, so he would have to provide that info. But he sure did pick a great track!

Thank you again for wotking your special magic! Take care and be safe.

Love that slinky slow shuffle/swing feel.

The entire production exudes SOPHISTICATION.

Greg, you without fail shine with this breed of song and Al, you are the man at putting instrumental BiaB tracks together. Tracks that invariably sound like a well honed band.

A band that is perfecto for the engaging lyric and melody.

No need to further parse.

Hi bar pro level stuff happening here!

Beautiful!

I love the way you use words.
You write lyrics that SING.
And melodies like buttery brandy.
True talent.

Alan's backing is always a perfect vehicle for you.

A stunning vocal.

Gorgeous. A great listen.

Beautiful vocals. Really enjoyed listening!

I cannot say much about the instrumental parts, because you didn't write anything about who did what. I thought we were supposed to do that, but good to know that I don't have to do that in the future. smile

Thanks for sharing!

Will ...

If you go to my comment, the 3rd or 4th on from the original post, I listed which tracks I used for the background music. And yes ...Greg wrote a gorgeous lyric and, as always, sings like a bird.

Best to you. Take care and be safe ...

Alan

Well...my goodness. What do you say? Goodness, I guess. Just beautiful from your high notes to those stabs of deep blues in the music, this listen really wound me up, and calmed me down.

"Like an untuned guitar still yearning to be played"--or something like that. Yes.

Lyrical and musical brilliance. A deep bow to you both.

Hi Greg,

A beautiful song and so nicely sung. 'Like a bird' as Alan wrote. That is so true!
Alan did a good job as well on the 'background' with the band.

It really was a joy listening to, only one minute too short!

Alan & Greg,
Excellent teamwork!
I have a soft spot for this kind of music, where I can just fall back, relax and listen. Not boring pop yet not overcomplicated jazz, this tune is just perfect for the genre. From musical composition to lyrics to vocals, beautiful all the way! Thank you for sharing.

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks

MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:

There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:

1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track
