Brilliant!! Intro with the harmonics is awesome, over used word but it fits.

Music is an absolute pleasure to listen to from start to finish.

And the lyrics!!! "I am a silicone coated bell clapper"?! To mention just one of many great lines.

Favorite verse is how you ended it:

"Deep in the ocean, where the sun don't reach
lives a fish that don't judge, don't preach
It sees no evil, cause it got no eyes.
It doesn't care for the truth or lies."

Loved it, well done.

Misha - I hope you felt as inspired when creating this as I felt listening to it. This is exceptional. I 100% support the other comments - there's very little to add. You know when you're listening to a song and there are parts where it just takes you to a new place, that you didn't know existed? That's exactly what I experienced at several places. The combination of the wind synth, the strings, guitars and other instruments would just merge into this glorious swirl with the words floating through them.

Wow - brilliant!

Misha,
How does your dystopian masterpiece slip to page3 in a week... darkness unleashing its soldiers??
My earlier comments I mostly agree with; though I`m getting used to the guitar choices. Your listing the song as R&B Soul ( rather than Dystopian Masterpiece)in genre, I find odd... otherwise BRILLIANT.

Ghostgum,
Thank you for listening and your kind words!

Stefan,
Thank you for giving this time and your support!
Did you expected someone looking like Dostoyevsky? smile

Captain,
Thank you for giving this time and your wonderful feedback! The vocabulary thing, lol!

----
Vic,
Thank you for your support and your constructive comment! You are probably 100% right, sometimes I get greedy and leave "extra" tracks in place.
---

Hans,
Thank you for giving this time and your support! The stop button comment was only for politically "determined" ones, who might find it offensive... in some ways. Lately I have seen families with such deeply dividing beliefs between husband & wife, parents & children that avoiding certain topics seems to make more sense than discussing them at this point in time to avoid breakages in relationships.

Robert,
Thank you for stopping by and your support! Unfortunately last two weeks were full
of unexpected projects, that needed urgent attention, so my forum participation was low. U.Showcase seems to be blooming with creativity, which is a VERY good thing. There are tons of material in my "to listen" list, including a new SL with Ray tune smile

Misha, this is fascinating on all counts: lyrically, musically and production-wise.
The psychedelic intro got me in and I was hooked.
Your lyrics reminded me of John Lennon's writing in his "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" and "Happiness is a Warm Gun" days.
The band is sensational and your vocals are perfectly ominous.
I loved if from go to whoa.
Cheers,
Mike

Misha,

I love your songs, and this is no exception. The music exudes mystery, tension, other-worldliness. Your lyrics continue to amaze me. I love the chorus, and I am afraid it will be playing in my head today as I try to teach my classes. smile

Wow Rusty what a totally different (to me anyways) and creative song, great opening and exceptional lyrics,

Digital trolls are greasing their elbows

and

Muscles of the titans, hearts of a lab mouse

Really stood out for me, how you think of cool lines like this I don't know.

Nice vocals and everything worked great, can see a song like this this in a sci-fi movie.

really enjoyed the listen.

Loved the whole thing, it's full of wonderful touches, but especially liked the intro. This was more accessible than many of your tracks and it may be the best I've heard from you. Flat out, you got yourself a hit!

Greg, Mike, Scott, Musiclover, TuneMonger,

Thank you for listening, your kind comments and your support! Your feedback means a lot to me.

P.S. Sorry for being late with replies. A seasonal flu got my attention for a few days and there was a lot of catching up to do.

Howdy Misha....

Yep...that's how my last one turned out too...it somehow evolved (stylistically) on it's own into a "Good 'ol boy" country tune which is not my default writing genre.

I gave it a listen even though I don't gravitate to any political songs for listening.
I checked it out because I knew your very personal style would have it's captivating appeal.
Moody, well delivered.
I gladly echo all other comments.

Be well...keep up the good work.

Misha, I'm glad somebody gave this a bump to the first page today! Otherwise I would have missed it. This is excellent work! That delayed instrument in the intro is very effective and really sets the mood! Complex lyrics that had to take some time to develop....Reminds me a little of something Robertkc would write and he is great at that stuff! Impressive!! Take care, T

There's definitely no need to push the stop button here. This is really one of the finest work of art on this forum. This is your best, although I wouldn't call it my favorite because of the dark tone smile

Fantastic arrangement, very lush and cinematic, creating nice underwater mood of the sinking world. Full of small details and effects. Great melancholy chord progression. Intriguing intro keeps the attention, Baritone guitar's sad tone fits excellently with your vocal tone which has strong Leonard Cohen vibe. Rhythm bed is enjoyable.

Not nearly as cryptic metaphors as in some of your other works because I could spot many references smile Or maybe I misunderstood them, but still lines like "Fractured magnets choosing their sides", "Digital trolls are greasing their elbows" and "Muscles of the titans, hearts of a lab mouse" talk to me. The last lines summarize the story perfectly. Just wondering, are you using Atlantis instead of Atlas on purpose?

INCREDIBLE music.

Standing O. Bravo. Big, big WOW.

Torrey,
Thank you for listening and your kind comments. About the lyrics... You know, "you are, what you eat" smile

Janne,
Thank you for listening, your SC feedback and heartwarming comments!
Good catch on Antlantis... probably Atlas would make more sense.
In Russian in is pronounced: Atlant, similar in Greek: ἄτλαντος (Atlantos), I followed intuition rather than looking up translation on this smile

Alan,

Wow, that intro made my ears stand up and say, "Pay attention, man [my ears are hip]. You're in for a treat." My brain already knew that at the word Rustyspoon. Good lord, Misha, you are a master at imagery lyrics. Loved the tune! My ears are now as hip as my brain.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
