Hi Vic,

This is excellent listening.

I love the story and way you tell it in song is awesome! The arrangement shines with confidence and you've got little bits of aural candy popping up here, there and everywhere. I absolutely loved this musical journey.

All the best,
Noel

I always enjoy a song with a story, especially ones about gamblers, and other rough characters and their dark fates. The song fits the theme and the story perfectly and the vocals really bring it home.

A great listen. Really enjoyed it.

Nicely written, sung, and produced. I, too, like a good story song and can see this being a hit in the bars.

Hi Ed Z.
Yes, you got it. Something to get your teeth into.
Makes a nice change from "I love you and you love me songs" although they can be great too.

Thanks for looking in.

Lead me to those bars, Ezekiel.
We'll have to wait a while over here though as we are in the middle of a 3 week lock down.

Ah well!

Thanks for the comment.

Great story. I really liked your mix and your outstanding vocals. Don't worry about the length of this song. Alice's Restaurant was 18 minutes long. If you can keep the listener listening then you have done your job regardless of the song's length and you definitely managed to keep me interested.

Great song!

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Hi Mario.
Thanks for the encouraging words. Maybe the song's too short. :-D

Love it, Vic. Aces & Eights was a wonderful local band. Story songs have been a favorite of mine since Big Bad John, and you are really good at telling those tales. It could be a movie. Great lyrics, vocal and the band and mix is spot on.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
