Hi all,
Here's a french song about the Last Trip…
Patrick Fournerat has written the lyrics and he is singing.

https://soundcloud.com/christian-devienne/un-jour-nous-partirons

Here's an approximate translation :

One day we'll go away
For a trip without return
A straightforward horizon
See an unknown universe
Without regretting a second
The torments of the old world

Together we will go to nothing
I won't fly away without you
You will not stay alone here below
Immortals we will be forever
To challenge once again
Existence and its laws

No doubt there will be nothing to see
There is no point in hoping
Like to despair
Only manage to accept
Do not hold it against
And walk away without resentment

Sublime...like a gently flowing stream.

A sad lyric but a relaxing melody and arrangement.

Nice vocal also.

Enjoyed it!

Thanks Musiclover, Janice and Bud,
Even the theme is serious, this song doesn't want to be worrying but just wants to be soothing. Christian

Lovely track, and I enjoyed listening closely. I liked the use of the plaintive violin very effective, especially how you dropped it to a lower register at verse2. Also, how you brought in the rhythm elements to emphasize certain sections, and the style of singing fits perfectly. Fine work.

Love the strings and acoustic bass together. Fantastique! Patrick sings with the perfect gravitas. Listened several times, very affecting, excellent work!

You've made this feel very intimated, very nice for this song.
Well done!

Thanks for your comments,
I think that strings (viola, violin and cello) fit well for this kind of song.

It's a lovely song but the vocal doesn't sit in the mix - it's above and slightly to the left - but the latter could just be my ears.

Cheers
