This is great. Loved it from start to finish. The song really sits well for Eddie's vocals and the backing vox and brass are really smooth. Enjoyed this from start to finish. Good Collaboration.

Hi Floyd,
Many thanks - much appreciated.
I'm just learning how to get the best out of the new vocal RTs, but
the sax RTs I've loved from the start. Great sounds and easier to
work with than some sax players I've encountered!
Cheers,

Well done.
The harmony vocals do sound a little synthesized though.
Oh, the return from the break is weird - what did you do?

Hi Ray,
The harmony vocals are using my old Syntovox vocoder. They sounded too
straight for this song, so I gave them a bit of an edge.
I wanted a bit of a step-change after the break, which is what I think you mean,
but weird is fine.
Many thanks for the review.

Hello Rog,

I liked your very realistic lyrics compared to the life we live. Your voice lends itself perfectly to the blues rock orchestration that you offer us. It's pleasant. Morality, it is better to be on the winning side if you have had the chance to draw the right lottery ticket. Well done.

Nice guitar hook, ROG. I was hoping for a solo, but the sax solo certainly worked well. Good vocals, and pro mix.

Sounds great guys, certainly not throw-away!

Hi Dave,
Many thanks for the positive review.
Having put guitar on the extended intro, I thought I'd let the sax have the solo - I just love those sax RTs.
Really enjoying your tracks with Chris, but also your solo stuff.
Thanks again.

Hi Scott,
Many thanks for the comments - we worked hard to get the groove right and the horn section took
a bit of work, so much appreciated. Randy Bachman? Great - thanks for that as well.

I was so pleased to hear you used brass - we don't hear that very often here. And they fitted like a glove - very well done, I think.

I also liked the approach of throwing in those 'un-bluesily' sounding vocals.

It's about 10 a.m. over here - that was a great song to begin the day with !!!!

Take care,

Stefan

Hi Stefan,
Yes, my thinly veiled cynicism was showing through a bit on this one eek.
Thanks for the positives about the brass and the vocals - much appreciated.

Shuffle blues are square in the middle of our wheelhouse so no problem enjoying this.

Good vocal and instrumental performances all the way. You on bass Rog? Nice.

All wrapped up in a great soundstage mix.

Well done y'all!

I do agree with Ray thought that those harmony vocals can use a bit of Melodyne.

But beside that, I really enjoyed this song!
Hans

Hi Hans,
Thanks for the nice comments.
The lead sax was an RT, but the brass section was midi from Edirol Orchestral which
is rather an old program by todays standards, but I still use it all the time.

This is quite the jaunty number, init?

I, too, love the addition of the brass. I really like the vocal sound and melody on the "It doesn't matter..." lines. Awesome.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
