Hi

I finally figured out how to let someone else look at my DAW while I am working. They can be anywhere in the world. They can hear high quality audio through their browser. They can see what I am doing and communicate with me at the same time through Zoom. They can control my DAW if I let them. They can record on my DAW.

They don't need anything but the Zoom client which Zoom ask them to download when they click on the Zoom link I sent if they don't already have it installed . The DAW audio is sent over audiomovers software which I have. They don't need it if they only want to look and comment. The webcam microphone is used to communicate over Zoom.

I can send a Zoom link and share BIAB live while I am working in it. You can see what I am doing and ask questions and I can ask questions also in near real time. But no audio...yet

Now...I would like to try make the audio work with BIAB. I don't know where the main BIAB output is or if a plugin can be added to it.

Is this possible?

Thanks,

Billy

EDIT: I found the Master. Testing to see if it will accept the audiomovers VST but not working yet. BB says it is 32 Bit but it is 64 bit

You mention Zoom. When you Share Screen in Zoom, did you check the checkbox to Share Computer Sound? You want to send audio that way, I would think, rather than using the webcam microphone.

Hi Matt,

What I am trying to do is:

1. Route the video feed through Zoom. (No issue)
2. Route the Spoken communication audio through the WebCam microphone (No Issue)

3. Route the audio from BIAB through audiomovers. (This I am having trouble with)

To route audio through audiomovers from my DAW for example I just have to insert the plugin as the last thing in the Main or Aux buss.

The reason I don't want music audio running through Zoom is it and other communications programs were never designed to do that. There great for spoken voice, much like telephone, but not suitable for high quality audio.

BIAB is returning a error message that says the plugin I am trying to use is 32 bit. I assume that "could" be true. I could have downloaded the 32 bit version accidently from audiomovers. I am looking into the issue now.

Thanks,

Billy

Matt, I have found a setting in Zoom that turns off the speech algorithm and applies stereo sound. That may make things better. There also seem to be a much larger latency in Zoom than in audiomovers...not sure the reason for that.

Zoom is not very intuitive in some ways. You need to be logged into your Zoom account while using the Zoom client. The web portal settings interact with the Zoom Client.

BIAB does not like the audiomovers .dll.

That is not a show stopper because I can always move the audio from BIAB to my DAW and transmit it over audiomovers from my DAW to get high quality audio if need be.

Zoom looks like an excellent tool to show someone how to do something in BIAB and it would be great if we could transmit high quality directly from BIAB.

Cheers,

Billy

Yes, obviously you have it running. Was there anything special to get the plugin into BIAB?

Billy
EDIT: Did you need jbridge?

Cool, I have not tried this in Reaper. I have Reaper but I mostly use Studio One 5. And when I am absolutely positively forced to I use Pro Tools...lol

OK, I had to think about that for a second. You are using audiomovers to stream BIAB to Reaper correct?

Are you using audiomovers in conjunction with Zoom to share BIAB remotely?

And again thanks for the help. I had not pointed BIAB to the correct .dll

The example above is using Reastream to send from Biab to Reaper
https://www.reaper.fm/reaplugs/
You can use Reastream to send the audio to other streaming apps.
Here's one video but there are many others:

Man, thanks a million, I think somewhere in the middle of all this exploration I downloaded that plugin.

I have experimented with OBS Studio, VB audio, a couple of wiring matrix programs, and all of that in the last few days. To much information...lol

This is a fascinating conversation, but the big boss, my wife, is calling me to work on her projects at the moment.

See you guys in a bit.

Again, thanks ever so much for the help.

Billy

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
