Thank you for listening

This is very creative. Loved the intro. Super vocal and loved the backtrack. And one more thing. Welcome to the forum. Look forward to hearing more of your music. Well done

The dirty vinyl effect at the beginning was unconvincing.
The band is cool.
The female vocal has the 30s shellac recording thing but the voice is very similar to Australian girl Tones who had a hit recently and all media seemed saturated with THAT sound.
Lyrics, melody are cool.

Cheers

Pretty Cool!
Great sound and some interesting bits to keep the interest.

Very nice song, love the vocals.
Only recommendation is to massage the vintage effects a bit, they seem inconsistent.

Nice job,
Moto

Very cool sounds, and welcome to the forum, (can I call you) 860. Great use of the Gypsy Swing thing. Vocals are superb. I read it a few times, but still miss the Buddy Holly reference.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thank you for listening!

kinda long winded explanation

In learning about song writing and methods there is a lot of talk about "deep and meaningful lyrics, something personal, etc." and a number of books point to the complexity of American Pie which was written about Buddy Holly and others.

These lyrics in this song are just place holders, I wanted to craft a complete song so just needed vocals that fit musically for me which I would replace later.

When I previewed it for someone they mentioned how the lyrics were so profound and "what did they mean to me?" and I was "um, actually, nothing." :-)

So many song writing books and courses go on and on about lyrics meaning something and several of my favourite jazz songs have just 4 lines (swing on nothin') or 8 (My Blue Heaven), its about the feeling of the song for me and the joy of singing along.

have a great day!

Not what I expected, but exactly as advertised on the tin!

I'm with Deryk - strong vocals. Nicely done.

If the lyrics work - and they do for me - call it done and move on! laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

I really love the way vintage music sounds, and adding the modern style vocals gave it a flair I wasn't expecting but gelled really well with the arrangement that was made! Very well done, and great job with the mix as well.

Hi 860 ...

Although Ezekiel's comments were brief and to the point, I think he nailed it. I agree with each of his descriptions. That was a great listen! You had me engaged until the very end. Sweet!

Wishing you the very best. Be safe ...

Alan
